Down Odom makes it official with Xavier

Xavier Head Coach Travis Steele has recently had big success recruiting in the state of Georgia these past couple of months and that can be attributed to Atlanta native and former University of Georgia assistant Jarvis Hayes.  Hayes managed to convince 2019 4-star recruit Elias King to commit to the Big East program shortly after decommitting from the University of Georgia.  Last weekend he dipped his hand into the 2020 class and got another recruit from the state of Georgia in 6’3 point guard Dwon Odom (St. Francis HS).

One look at Odom’s game and the words power and speed come to mind, as the Atlanta Celtic lead guard is great at attacking the defense by either going through it or finishing over the top at it.  Almost impossible to stop when he is going downhill, Odom possesses big time ability to change the momentum of the game with a big time dunks that will send the crowd into a frenzy.  He’s no one trick pony, with an outside shot that has improved Odom has shown that he’s become a better passer and willing on ball defender with the speed to shoot the gaps for steals.

A top 50 player in the 2020 class, Odom chose the Musketeers over Georgetown, Florida, TCU, Auburn, and Georgia.  With two more years before he steps on campus the rising junior has said that he is now focused on becoming a recruiter in his own right as he will no doubt need a few more horses to run with at Xavier.
