Nike EYBL Boo Williams Evaluation: Matthew McQuaid (Duncanville, Texas), Team Texas Elite – 2015

Team Texas Elite is a team that basketball purists would love to watch. They run a 5-out motion offense that complements their roster full of shooters. One of those sharp shooters is 6-foot-5 guard Matthew McQuaid. In a match-up versus Athletes First, McQuaid demonstrated his unlimited range from 3-point range early and often. He sports a picture perfect release and is able to get off quickly and accurately. The Lone Star state native is far from a standstill shooter. He uses screens well and can put the ball on the floor when attacking defender’s momentum.

McQuaid gave his verbal commitment to Southern Methodist University earlier this spring. He joins Sedrick Barefield of Corona, Calif., as the second commitment in the class of 2015 for coach Larry Brown. SMU is making a resurgence in the recruiting world as they snagged McDonald’s All-American Emmanuel Mudiay of Dallas, Texas, in the class of 2014. If this trend continues, you should expect to see the Mustangs near the top of the American Athletic Conference in years to come.
