EMERSON, Ga. — The GBCA Southeast live period is one of the must-attend events in the region every year. Several of the south’s best programs convene north of Atlanta for a weekend in front of college coaches from all levels.

Checking in on some of the On The Radar Circuit stars yielded fruitful results as the success they’ve been having all spring translated well to their high school teams.

Here are five Circuit players who performed well over the weekend:

Bryce Hoffert - Windermere

Having seen Hoffert plenty over the last two years, his game lends well to winning. Hoffert was a productive connector over the weekend. He seldom makes questionable plays. His feel is outstanding. If he needs to be the primary playmaker on a team, he has the passing acumen and savvy to do so. Hoffert can play off the ball and be a shooter, secondary creator. He also has a nose for the ball and is always in a play. He did a lot of understated things for Windermere that wouldn’t pop off the page, but a refined eye would recognize their contributions to winning. Keeping a loose ball alive, making the extra pass, taking good shots, etc.

Whitfield Bynoe - Oak Ridge

Hoffert’s Circuit teammate, Bynoe has a lot of the same intangible on-court qualities. Smart, unselfish. Bynoe is a shooting threat who can be a game changer when he gets going. Bynoe is a savvy playmaker when he’s not pulling from deep. He picks his opportunities to attack gaps to score or make plays for others. Bynoe keeps the game simple and never forces the issue. He’s a high-IQ guard who does a lot of winning.

Gavin Reed - Coral Glades

Nobody used this weekend to solidify and improve their stock more than Gavin Reed. He delivered as consistently as anyone. Reed’s off-the-dribble shotmaking was on. He elevates well for his shot and can get hot when in rhythm. Reed’s ability to run a winning team can’t go understated. Coral Glades was 4-0 against some of the most talented teams in the field, and Reed was the primary playmaker. His confidence never wavers. He knows his strengths and trusts his game even when shots might not be falling. Reed made some outstanding passes as well. He’s a great floor general.

Donovan Swain - Coral Glades

Swain wasn’t at his best throughout the weekend, and he still averaged 18.5 points per game. That’s a testament to how talented he is. He’s an exceptional scorer from the guard spot. Swain gets it done from all four levels. The fourth level being the free-throw line because he can use his gravity as a scorer to be assertive and go at defenders to draw contact. His shotmaking is great, but when he wasn’t hitting, he used an elusive but athletic game to get down hill and make plays happen at the rim. I’d expect him to be a hot name among mid-major coaches in July.

Landon Grundy - Hillgrove

Minor ailments have kept Grundy from seeing the floor a ton this spring with Sewer South, but he looks healthy and primed for a big July. Grundy averaged 13 points per game, and his multi-level scoring was on display. A killer in the mid-range, Grundy has a great in-between game and can do a ton of damage from a few feet away from the basket. He mixed in some 3-pointers and scored at the rim. Grundy thrived in Hillgrove’s up-and-down pace that had opponents sped up and out of sorts. He’s a bigger guard for D1 coaches to keep tabs on during the second and third weekends in July.
