Bryce Hoffert joins Cory McPherson, as he announced his commitment to the University of Tampa earlier this week:

Bryce Hoffert, A 6-foot-6 senior shooting guard out of Windermere High School in the greater Orlando area, announced he will be committing to play his collegiate basketball career at the University of Tampa. He joins his AAU teammate Cory McPherson, who committed to the Spartans last month.

Hoffert chose the Spartans over Barry University, Davis & Elkins, Rollins, Saint Leo, Trevecca-Nazarene, among others.

During the Grassroots season, Hoffert played for Sunshine Elite, where he was coached by John Elgani, who currently serves as the lead assistant coach at Oak Ridge High School.

On The Radar Hoops Southeast Region Scout Ross Van De Griek on Hoffert at Power 24: Hoffert showcased his ability to score in multiple ways, and he can make an impact both on and off the ball. On defense, he continues to apply pressure and disrupt the opposition from getting any offensive flow. His versatility also allowed him to be effective in the passing lanes, snatching timely rebounds, and pushing tempo in transition-scoring opportunities.

“Bryce (Hoffert) was our suspension. Everything looked better with him on the court. Bryce would make up for a lot of our bad moments with his high IQ and understanding of the game. Sunshine has had a lot of success because of our team-first mindset, but Bryce led by example by always finding people in the right place at the right time and making it look effortless. Tampa is getting another known winner and athlete who will be ready to step on the court on day 1,” Coach Elgani told On the Radar Hoops.

“Bryce (Hoffert) is a special player that I’ve been truly privileged to have the opportunity to coach. As a first-year head coach, I couldn’t ask for a better leader for my team. His skill set, IQ, understanding, and feel for the game are second to none. I learn just as much from him as he does from me. He leads by example both on and off the court, and he is a first-class individual in every way. I’m so excited for him taking this next step in his journey and blessed to play a part in his development. During his junior season at Windermere High School, Hoffert averaged 13.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.1 steals per game in 28 games played. The Wolverines finished the 2025-2026 season with a 15-14 record and qualified for the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Class 7A Region 2 Semifinals before their season ended at the hands of Oak Ridge.

During the Grassroots season with Sunshine Elite, Hoffert averaged 14.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting 54% from the field, 41% from behind the three-point line, and 82% from the free-throw line.
