GRAYSON, Georgia, - Grayson High School played host to their annual New Year's Classic. This year's event featured nine games and 18 teams from around the state of Georgia. Here is a final look at the top performers from the day.

Kevin White - Gainesville - 2026: Kevin continues to fly under the radar at the guard spot. Always doing a good job controlling the game and tempo, he knows how to put his teammates in scoring positions, and he maximizes their strength well. He brought his feisty defensive play with him and does a very good job competing on both ends of the floor. What he lacks in size he makes up for in heart. one of the most competitive guards you will find in the state.

Torian Greene - Alexander - 2026: Another event and another Greene write up looms. This was my first time seeing all three guards for Alexander on the floor together and he played his normal role to perfection. Their base defense is a full court press and Greene is blitzing defenders all four quarters while still being a reliable bucket for his team. The 3 ball and midrange were flowing and his ability to get to the rim was put on display.

Manny Green - Cedar Grove - 2027: Manny was the go to guy for Cedar Grove but a few defensive adjustments slowed him down a bit showing how big of an impact he has on this group. When he is flowing, he is knocking down his signature midrange J left and right and treating the gym like a shooting drill period. The big area of improvement will continue to be his ball handling skills and decision making.

Ogo Ekweozor - McEachern - 2026: Ekweozor continues to be a player that I keep tabs on and he continues to show up each matchup. Can be seen as this team's Swiss army knife, Ekweozor is fierce defensively and is a consistent threat on the other end as well. With Lumpkin not present for McEachern in this matchup, he took on a bigger task offensively and provided some clutch buckets for McEachern. He continues to do the dirty work for this group and is a player who understands his role early.

Emmanuel Alofe - McEachern - 2026: Alofe is another name that is familiar within the OTR circle. With McEachern's top scorer out he picked up the duties on that end scoring 17pts including 3 3's. He continues to show off his versatility and is making a huge splash for this group. He's shown the ability to score on 3 levels, throw down some emphatic jams and defend hard. One of the more underrated players in the state by far.
