GRAYSON, Georgia, - Grayson High School played host to their annual New Year's Classic. This year's event featured nine games and 18 teams from around the state of Georgia. Here is a final look at the top performers from the day.

Xavier Butler - North Cobb Christian - 2027: I liked his inside out game. He maneuvered well in the post, showed off some good footwork, and had a respectable mid-range game that kept the defense honest. Still with another year to develop, he has the base to build around and provides quality size for this group.

Isaiah Chandler - North Cobb Christian - 2027: Isaiah provided the spark this group needed in the 2nd half to help propel the win over North Gwinnett. He was able to get to the rim/paint whenever he wanted which resulted into easy lays or free trips at the line. Polished ball handler as he can get to his spots with ease and not using a lot of dribbles. Had some eyebrow raising jams to show off the athleticism. He will be the building block for this group and look for him to continue to turn in these performances.

Bobby Buggs - Dutchtown - 2026: A player that's made multiple appearances as a OTR stand out Buggs pg skills were on display and his clutch fts helped seal the win for Dutchtown. The tight handle was on display yet again, and he kept the moves to a minimum allowing him to blow by defenders and show off his wiggle game. He’s understanding less is more and these types of performances will only help Dutchtown.

Kyree Taylor - Greenforest - 2027: I like the dynamic he brought to Green Forest and his change of pace play. He looked comfortable on the court for his age and showed he can be trusted with the ball in his hands. Shifty guard with deep range who did a good job getting his teammates involved.

Charlie Gershmel - Gainesville - 2026: After multiple games watched by Charlie he has to have one of the highest FG percentages in the state. He is automatic around the rim and is turning into a consistent player that you can count on night in and night out. Fundamentally sound, he's always looking for opportunities to crash the board, he runs the floor extremely well and is a go to piece for this team. Very efficient 18pts in win over Cedar Grove.
