KENNESAW, Georgia — Sunday at North Cobb was a long day. One post was not going to cover everybody who earned a look. This is another group from the Southern Hoops Report Fall Showcase.

The setting did not change. Players worked with metro Atlanta trainers in a well-run gym and got individual attention. These eight are next.

Mateo Sucic — Walton, 6-4 — 2027

Sucic is a gritty, grimey player. He can make the skillful and fundamental play in flow. But he is also effective in the broken play when it takes effort and toughness to complete. The combination of size and ball skill makes him an attractive player at the collegiate level. He showed range beyond the 3-point arc and aggressiveness with the dribble. There has not been a lot written on him recently. So he is an under-the-radar prospect who deserves more attention.

Nasir Chamble — Loganville High School, 6’4” — 2030

Chamble is a promising young wing who made the most of his opportunity last weekend. He is physical and aggressive. He showed patience with the ball in his hands, probing for the right opportunity to attack. He showcased his athleticism well as he anticipated and blocked a shot on a weak-side rotation. He also had moments of expanded skill. He drained a step-back 3-pointer at one point during game play and finished in the lane off the dribble.

Zane Hereford — Cherokee, 6-2 — 2027

Hereford is a left-handed guard who brings energy and speed to the floor. He can stop on a dime with the ball and pull up for a smooth jumper. His 3-pointer looked solid. He drained a few in rhythm off the skip and the reversal pass. We believe he will bring value to the Warriors as a play creator who also has size. He recently picked up an offer from Toccoa Falls.

Beau Selby — Milton, 6-3 — 2027

Selby was one of the more interesting prospects at the camp. He jumped the tip at the beginning of the game and was then handling as a lead guard a moment later. His versatility is something that Coach Allen Whitehart will be able to utilize this season. His jumper is clean and he can lead the break as a decision maker. There are not very many kids in the Metro area who have the all-around skill set that Selby has.

Micah Huff — Habersham Central, 5-11 — 2027

Huff was one of the better shooters we evaluated at the camp. He has a solid frame and projects as a shooting specialist who can score the ball around the perimeter. He demonstrated that he could hit the jumper off the kick-out 3-pointer. He is also effective at running off screens and draining jumpers off curl cuts. We noted his soft touch kissing the ball off the glass in the midrange.

Bo Reid — Creekview, 6’1” — 2027

Reid has earned a reputation for being a knockdown shooter with Blue Collar Basketball and at Creekview High School. His willingness to mix it up and play aggressively in traffic should not be overlooked. He fought for loose balls and played aggressively during this setting. He can shoot it. His silky touch and pure release give him a chance to shoot around 40% from the arc this year. Track him with the Bears this season.

Lio Sackey — Gainesville / 6’3” — 2029

Watching Sackey was a breath of fresh air on Sunday. The ball seemed to have energy when he had it in his hands. The sophomore guard is quick to pass and cut and use ball fakes to set up his next move. He has great size and showed some range with his jumper, which he drained off of side-step jumpers. Expect him to keep developing with the Red Elephants this year and beyond.

Eric Vargo — North Cobb High School / 6-0 — 2029

Vargo made an impression during drills as a guy who knows how to play the game. When he did not have the ball in his hands, he was moving to open spots on the floor or screening for others. That type of instinct will be key for him earning quality minutes this season with Coach Marcus Spivey’s crew. The lefty also showed some sauce with his ball handling. He showed a tight in/out dribble and a solid pull-up jumper in the flow of the offense.
