The No. 71 overall-ranked player in the nation, according to 247Sports, will choose between four finalists: Ohio State, South Florida, UCLA, and UNLV.

Jojo Philon, A 6-foot-9 four-star small forward, is one step closer to announcing a college commitment. The senior out of Montverde Academy in Montverde, Florida, will announce his college commitment on Saturday, March 21 st at 6:00 p.m., according to 247Sports’ Recruiting Analyst Dushawn London.

Philon narrowed down his finalists to four schools, where he will choose between Ohio State, South Florida, UCLA, and UNLV at a signing ceremony at The Skills Center in Tampa, Florida.

Philon played his senior season at Montverde Academy after playing his first three high school seasons at Howard W. Blake High School in Tampa, Florida, where he was part of the Nike EYBL Scholastic Conference and helped lead the Eagles to the Eastern Conference regular-season championship this season.

Philon has taken official visits to each of his four remaining schools, with the most recent visit to UNLV last weekend. He also visited with UCLA earlier this month, after taking official visits to South Florida and Ohio State before his senior season started.

Philon is a long and twitchy forward who can often at times play the power forward position but mainly is set to play out on the wing. He can guard all five positions with his length and versatility on the defensive end. On the offensive end, he is a primary initiator but is unafraid when it comes to getting to his spots, being effective off the catch as well as the bounce. He also displays a smooth handle and is a high-IQ player, where his poise and decision-making are elite.

During his senior season at Montverde Academy, Philon is averaging 11.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game. He is shooting 53% from inside the three-point line, 27% from behind the arc, and 76% from the free-throw line.
