OTR Hoops News: 2027 3-star Point Guard commits to Louisville

Isaac Ellis, A three-star junior point guard out of Moravian Prep (North Carolina), announced he has committed to the University of Louisville on Monday.

The 6-foot-2 point guard was previously committed to the University of South Carolina since June before opening up his recruitment last month as well as reclassifying from 2026 to 2027. He is the younger brother of current Gamecocks guard Eli Ellis. Eli is averaging 10.2 points per game during his freshman season at South Carolina.

Issac brings a ton of similar playing styles as his older brother, where he can score in a variety of ways, whether it’s his ability to attack the basket, score in the mid-range as well, or be lethal when it comes to shooting from behind the arc. So far this season for YNG Dreamerz on the Overtime Elite Circuit, Ellis is averaging 30.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 8.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game while shooting nearly 47% from the field and 34.5% from behind the arc. In a game on November 14, Ellis scored 56 points against FaZE.

Ellis took an unofficial visit to Louisville this past weekend for their game against Memphis, where he told Rivals’ Joe Tipton, “I love the culture and the entire staff… everybody preaches on family and culture, but you can kind of sniff out when they are faking it. On my visit, I could tell everything they preach on they follow, it was a super great culture, a lot of energy, and a really high standard.”

Ellis becomes the second commit for Pat Kelsey and his staff for the 2027 recruiting cycle after three-star power forward Ferlandes Wright out of La Lumiere (Indiana) committed to the Cardinals last month.
