Henry Robinson Jr., a 6-foot-8 small forward from Pine Ridge High School in Deltona, Florida, committed to Jacksonville University on September 21. Robinson made an official campus visit last weekend.

The four-star recruit is ranked No. 82 overall, No. 21 small forward, and the No. 18 overall-ranked player in the state of Florida in the class of 2027, according to 247Sports.

Robinson chose the Dolphins over notable schools such as Arkansas State, Florida State, Georgia Southern, North Florida, South Florida, Stetson, UAB, and UCF.

During his junior season at Pine Ridge, Robinson averaged 27.6 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.2 steals, and 3.0 blocks per game, according to MaxPreps. He was also named to the All-State Class 5A Second Team and was named the All-Volusia County Player of the Year. He also led the Panthers to their first regional final appearance since 2002. 

During the Grassroots season, Robinson played with Tre Mann Elite, where he helped lead them to the PRO16 League 17U division championship. 

Robinson becomes the first commit for Jordan Mincy and staff in the upcoming recruiting cycle. 

Scouting Report on Henry Robinson Jr.: The 6-8 small forward has a unique frame, and he has added strength over the last couple of years. His game is defined by his explosive athleticism as well as playing with a relentless motor, particularly on the defensive end, where he can guard all five positions. On the offensive end, he uses a quick first step to get to the rim and finishes well with either hand while being unafraid when it comes to absorbing contact. He is also capable of attacking the paint and kicking out to open shooters while on the move with either hand. Overall, he is a high-level athlete who plays with a ton of length whether it’s altering shots around the rim or staying disciplined when attacking closeouts on the perimeter. Robinson is projected as a multi-year starter at the next level, where he can evolve as a secondary playmaker and possess physical tools to make an impact on both ends of the floor.
