Frashad Tisby, A 6-foot-6 small forward out of Cross Creek High School in Augusta, Georgia, announced he has committed to the University of South Carolina following his official visit. He also made official visits to Marquette, Harvard, and Yale. 

Tisby chose the Gamecocks over Arizona State, Charlotte, Florida State, Harvard, Marquette, UAB, and Yale. He was also being recruited by Auburn, Belmont, Mississippi State, Jacksonville State, Kennesaw State, Rice, Stetson, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech, Wofford, and Xavier.

Tisby becomes the first commit for Lamont Paris and the Gamecocks for the upcoming recruiting cycle. 

During the Grassroots season, Tisby played with Jet Academy on the Nike EYBL Circuit, where he averaged 11.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. 

During his junior season at Cross Creek, Tisby averaged 17.4 points, 11.1 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 3.2 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game, and he was a key contributor in leading the Razorbacks to the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Class 3A Championship. It was the Razorbacks’ third state championship in the last six years. He was also named the Class 3A Player of the Year in the state of Georgia.

The Gamecocks were the first Power 4 school to offer Tisby back in June 2025, and since then, they have remained in consistent communication throughout the recruiting process. 

Tisby was also a participant at the Pangos All-American Camp in Las Vegas back in June, where the Gamecocks’ coaching staff got the opportunity to check out Tisby. 

Scouting Report on Frashad Tisby: Tisby is a versatile small forward who impacts the game across the board with his unique blend of length, athleticism, and skill. On the offensive end, he’s not someone who forces the issue; he operates within the flow and gets to his spots. He can knock down shots from beyond the arc, showcasing a smooth release, and has good rotation skills. On the defensive end, his frame and wingspan allow him to guard multiple positions, disrupt passing lanes, and contest shots effectively, making him a true asset on both ends of the floor. He rarely takes plays off, maintaining a high motor that affects possessions even when he’s not directly involved in the action. Overall, Tisby is projected as a high-major starter with the versatility to contribute immediately, likely as a valuable wing who brings more. Tisby is a multi-positional guard who could carve out a long professional career due to his coveted blend of size, skill, and versatility.
