The No. 5 overall player in the 2027 class will be taking four official visits over the course of the next two weeks.

Ryan Hampton, a 6-foot-6 shooting guard from DME Academy in Daytona Beach, Florida, has scheduled the following official visits, according to On3’s Joe Tipton.

-NC State (March 2)

-Ole Miss (March 3)

-SMU (March 4)

-Nebraska (March 8)

Hampton is rated as a five-star prospect and the No. 5-overall ranked player in the Class of 2027, according to numerous recruiting services, and is the top-ranked shooting guard in the class. He put up stellar numbers in his first season with DME Academy, where he averaged 20.7 points per game and led his team to the Sunshine Independent Athletic Association (SIAA) Final Four. They will take on the Academy of Central Florida on Friday at Daytona State College.

Hampton played the last Grassroots season for Drive Nation on the Nike EYBL Circuit under Jermaine O’Neal, where he averaged 26.8 points per game, while shooting 61.4% from the field and 54.5% from the three-point line during the Peach Jam last summer.

Hampton is a pure scorer who can knock down shots across all three scoring levels, as well as size up and score effectively in the mid-range. His best play style is in transition, where he doesn’t need to be the primary ball-handler to get to his spots. On the defensive end, he is long and mobile, able to guard multiple positions, rebound, and alter shots at the rim. He has a smooth skillset where he can handle the basketball and deliver a high-IQ when it comes to his decision-making. Hampton is also hearing from several schools, such as Auburn, Baylor, Florida State, Maryland, Kansas, Louisville, Texas, Texas A&M, Villanova, and others.

He is the younger brother of former first-round National Basketball Association (NBA) Draft pick RJ Hampton, who spent four seasons in the league with the Orlando Magic, Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons, and Miami Heat. He is currently playing overseas in the Chinese Basketball League.
