Four-star small forward Jaxon Richardson will announce his college decision this week between Alabama, Creighton, Ole Miss, and USC.
Jaxon Richardson, A four-star small forward, remains one of the top remaining unsigned prospects in the Class of 2026. The 6-foot-6 senior out of Southeastern Preparatory Academy in Orlando, Florida, will announce his college commitment on Thursday, March 5, according to ESPN’s Paul Biancardi.
Richardson narrowed his top schools to four last month and will choose between Alabama, Creighton, Ole Miss, and USC. He is rated as the No. 27-overall prospect in the Class of 2026, the No. 10-ranked small forward, and the No. 5 overall-ranked player in the state of Florida, according to 247Sports.
Richardson took official visits to each of his four remaining schools, with his most recent visit coming to Ole Miss back in November. Richardson is the younger brother of Jase Richardson, who currently plays for the Orlando Magic in the National Basketball Association (NBA), and the son of 13-year NBA veteran Jason Richardson, who played for the Golden State Warriors, Charlotte Bobcats, Phoenix Suns, Orlando Magic, and Philadelphia 76ers from 2001 to 2015.
Richardson is a high-flying prospect who can play above the rim offensively and defensively. While his shooting has made huge strides, it remains a work in progress as he shot under 20% from behind the three-point line during the Nike EYBL circuit last summer, playing with the Florida Rebels. He has made huge strides as a cutter towards the basket, as well as a better passer and rebounder from the wing position. Overall, Richardson can impact the game with his athleticism and by asserting himself as a rebounder, particularly on the offensive glass. While playing this season with Southeastern Preparatory Academy, Richardson averaged 12.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 61% from inside the three-point line and 34% from behind the arc.
