GHSA Championship Game Previews – March 10

MACON, GA – The 4-day extravaganza that is the GHSA Finals continues today with the 3A and 6A boys finals.

We set the stage a bit:

3A – SANDY CREEK (25-6) VS CEDAR GROVE (20-9)

OUTLOOK: The Pats are 3-0 versus their Region 5-3A rivals this season, and this is also a rematch from the fall football campaign, a championship game on the gridiron which ended immersed in controversy. The Pats have won 9 of their last 10, an Elite 8 win in Savannah over highly-ranked Johnson and their Final Four triumph over reigning champs Cross Creek obviously huge among them, while the Saints have a mix of gritty veterans surrounding one of the state’s best 2026 prospects.

SANDY CREEK KEY GUYS: Micah Smith (Jr, F), Amari Brown (Jr, G), Vic Newsom (Sr, G), PJ Green (Jr, G)

CEDAR GROVE KEY GUYS: Manny Green (Fr, F), Darius Reynolds (Sr, F), Jaylen Adside (Sr, G), Elliot Colson (So, G)

6A – LEE COUNTY (28-3) VS ALEXANDER (27-5)

OUTLOOK: Lee County has been so solid in its 3 playoff wins over quality ATL-Metro opponents in Riverwood (H), Blessed Trinity (A) and Lanier (N), as the Trojans head to the championship game for the first time in 38 years. This Cougars bunch has been filled with promise winning 51 games over the last 2 seasons, and has finally put it all together in this finals run.
