OTR Battle at the Beach – Folds Fab 5 – May 27, 2023

Folds’s Fab 5- 5 standouts from Battle at the Beach

24’ G Travis Morris – Silky smooth guard who can score all over the floor and gives you great stops on defense. Easily averaged over 20 points per game this past weekend and was one of the best pure guards I saw play. At 6’2 Travis plays even bigger with a long wingspan and can get to the rim with ease. Great overall fundamentals with a ton of upside makes Travis one to monitor as e head into the summer.

23’ G Derek McCray – Derek was one of the best pure shooters I saw all weekend. He uses his body well to come off tight screen with a quick shot release which makes him tough to defend. He also displayed nice combo moves to get to the rim when needed. Derek played with a ton of energy and takes pride in his overall game. I was very impressed with his overall style of play.

24’ G Jaeden Burns – at 6’4 Jaeden has great size and ability to play multiple positions and do whatever his coach needs. Jaden is on a loaded WR All-Stars team but does a great job understanding his role and contributing where needed. Jaeden did a nice job in the game I saw defending at a high level and was amongst the leading scorers for his team. I see solid upside to his overall game and would encourage others to check out Jaeden and this talented roster.

25’ G Jhett Carter – Jhett is a name that is gaining a lot of attention throughout multiple travel circuits this season. Jhett has a quick first step and can score at will. He plays with a high level of confidence and a ton of energy. I really liked his overall game as he showed poise and good decision making while remaining locked in for his team. One of the better 2025 players I saw throughout the weekend.

26’ G Jason Lopez – I had to do a double take when I saw Jason was only class of 2026. He was not only playing up in 17u division but playing the hardest schedule of the weekend with SOH Elite. Jason has a tireless motor and is very athletic. Jason is a guard that always seems to be in attack mode and plays great defense. He is a dual sport athlete already holding division 1 offers for football. He was easily one of the best pure athletes I saw all weekend. He is the type of player any coach would love to have on their roster.
