OTR Elite 32 – Day 3 EXCITEMENT – July 8, 2023
MARIETTA, Georgia, – After two days of solid action at the OTR Elite 32, day three gave us more than our fair share of great basketball action. More overtime finishes, last second shots, and come from behind wins all highlighted today’s action. And of course, there are players earning offers and looks from the college coaches sitting court side. Here is a rundown from day three.

AOT and Ace Bailey Do it AGAIN
Court four was packed. With the game running more than thirty minutes behind, spectators squeezed in to watch AOT, the SW Illinois Jets, AND Ace Bailey. Dozens of college coaches were in attendance. The crowd, the humidity, and the competitive atmosphere created one of those moments this afternoon.
Ace Bailey delivered another signature performance notching 30 points and a handful of memorable dunks and fallaway jumpers. The Jets could not hold off the momentum that the hometown team generated on this night.
However, this game came with a surprise. It would not be Bailey who sank the go-ahead buckets in the final minutes. Jahkias Jones, a two-sport star from Thomson High School, would be the man of the hour. Four straight buckets, which included three 3-pointers, proved the difference, and secured the win for AOT.
Great atmosphere in the gym for AOT vs. SW Illinois Jets as AOT has battled back in the 2nd half behind Ace Bailey.
Schools in attendance:
Rutgers
UAB
South Florida
Kennesaw State
North Dakota State
Mercer
Morehead State
SIUE
Air Force

Double OT Excitement at Kell HS
Team Breakdown DMV and Colorado Prospects went back and forth with a to a wire finish. Colorado Prospects played the game short handed with only six players. All that meant was that Blake Weslin had to pick up the slack and he did precisely that to the tune of 26 points. DMV would trail most of the game, but would scrap back to put the game into overtime and then squeeze out a lead late in the first overtime before the Prospects would tie the game at the buzzer sending it to sudden death. DMV wins the tip in double OT and Sulaiman Shackleford would finger roll it in for the game winner. The 2024 guard would also finish with 26 points in this thriller. See Keith Agran’s coverage below:

McLargin Sinks Game Winner Giving Pressure Elite the ‘W’
Pressure Elite found themselves trailing early against a red-hot Team Forrest squad. However, the poise ball-handling of Daniel McGregor, timely scoring of Ace Taylor (31 points), and finally a clutch 3-pointer from Ian McLargin flipped the script in favor of the young men from the Sunshine State.
Taylor has been a consistent performer at OTR events this spring delivering shooting and playmaking. McGregor created the play which led to the 3-pointer. He earned praise from our evaluators following the game (see below).

High IQ Point Guards
Not all point guards are created alike. Some play with flair, others like to score, others are facilitators of the offense. Here is a list of high basketball acumen guards who make the right play and give their team the best chance to win.

Class of 2024 Maddox Bodenhamer (Team Mookie 2024)
Maddux Bodenhamer has been the one to catch my eye this morning for Team Mookie.
A strong and patient point guard, Bodenhamer always makes the right reads. Takes advantage of scoring opportunities but doesn’t need to score to affect the game. pic.twitter.com/UcXB0kNWMR
