OTR Power 24 – Saturday Standouts (Rickers) – July 19, 2023

OTR Power 24: Saturday Standouts

The last live period of the summer just wrapped up, OTR’s Power 24, which brought together a collection of shoe teams and top independents from across the country. Throughout the weekend, we saw some fantastic finishes and a number of players breakout in front of college coaches. Here are a couple of guys that stood out on Saturday.

By: Cam Rickers

2024 W Cameron Simpson – Florida Rebels

Cameron Simpson was one of the top three-point snipers we saw all weekend. The 6’6 wing has a quick trigger, deep range, and shoots it with a ton of confidence. His size and length provide a ton to work with, raw tools that will allow him to develop into a more complete scorer and a versatile defender. He had one of the best three-point percentages in the EYBL this year and recently committed to Central Florida.

2024 G Luke Flynn – Atlanta Timberwolves (White)

This was a crucial weekend for Luke Flynn, the last live period of his career, and Flynn shined in the big moment. He went for 33 including 7 three-pointers in a Saturday afternoon thriller against the GA Stunners. In addition to his microwave scoring and deadly outside stroke, Flynn possesses leadership traits that shine in the up-close environment. He makes the teammates around him better and that’s what separates the goods from the greats. Several of Flynn’s top schools were in attendance this weekend with eyes glued.

2026 W Kayden Allen – Georgia Stars (Pictured Above)

Kayden Allen is one of the country’s hottest 2026 prospects right now after putting up some big numbers at Peach Jam. He kept the momentum going with a great weekend at the Power 24, making the most of his opportunities on the main courts. Allen is a variety scorer, lethal from three-point land but also skilled and patient around the paint. His athleticism might sneak up on some and it was on display this weekend, a couple of eye-opening dunks. Allen picked up offers from Arizona State, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Cincinnati with more likely to come in the next few weeks.

2026 F Charlie Gersmehl – Redline Elite

Charlie Gersmehl’s development is coming along nicely and he’s been one of the notable names that’s contributed to Redline’s ascension this year. Gersmehl is 6’7 with good hands and some soft touch around the rim. Compared to last summer, Gersmehl is looking much more mobile and quicker on his feet. He’s a great low post scorer, still room to tighten things up and add to his arsenal of scoring moves. At South Forsyth, Gersmehl stepped into an important role as a freshman and will likely carry the weight now as a sophomore.

2026 F Kosi Mgbejiofor – Team Loaded VA

Kosi Mgbejiofor is a new name on my radar as I don’t get up to Virginia much but it didn’t take long for him to catch my attention, several two-hand slams that tested the rims. He’s 6’11 and long, able to dominate the interior of most 15u games with those things alone. Kosi’s very mobile and active, so much potential to tap into as his skillset begins to round out. The 2026 big has already received offers from Texas A&M and Mississippi State.
