OTR The Opening (Daytona) Top Shooters – April 7, 2023
Top Shooters from Dayton Florida Opening
By: Josh Folds
24’ Ryan Blount 6’5 (Q6 All -Stars Black)
Ryan has honed his craft and continues to be amongst the elite shooters in his class. Ryan is a consistent outside shooter that finds a way to get good pacing while displaying a quick shot release. Ryan had the most impressive performance of the weekend against 1 Family matching up against multiple Division 1 prospects. Not only did he hold his own, but he dropped 25-points and led his team to victory. Ryan’s recruiting will continue to pick up as the travel season moves on.
24’ Dylan Labuhn 6’3 (Q6 All-Stars)
Another sniper in the Q6 organization that lit up Daytona all weekend was this young man. Dylan gets to his spots with ease and does a nice job coming off tight screens to get room for the outside shot. Dylan shoots with confidence and you can tell has been putting in the work on his overall game. He was one of the best shooters in the entire showcase and his name quickly spread amongst those in attendance. He is one to keep an eye on
25’ Jeremy Penner 6’2 (Sunshine Elite)
Jeremy was very impressive in all three wins his team had over the weekend. Jeremy displayed above average athleticism combined with a sweet stroke from the outside. Jeremy was hitting from all over the court and was one of the best pure shooters I saw in action over the course of the event. Buy stock early in this young man who has plenty of upside in front of him and time on his side.
24’ Noah Cutler 5’9 (SWFL Hoops Red)
Noah is not only a floor general but a consistent outside shooter as well. Noah’s speed can get him anywhere he wants on the court and Noah had his entire bag of tricks on display all weekend long. Noah knows how to get his teammates involved and in return they look for him when needing a bucket. Noah’s endless hours in the gym produced strong results and was a big reason why his team was undefeated on the weekend.
24’ Derek Delgardo Jr 6’0 (G1 National)
Derek has been known as an outstanding three-point shooter but more and more he is showing off his mid-range skills. Derek showed off his impressive ballhandling skills and consistent outside shooting all weekend long. He will continue to be a tough matchup for the opposing team if you play him too tight, he will get by you and either finish at the rim or hit a mid-range. If you sag back on defense, he will pull up for three. This young man continues to get better every time I see him play.
