SUWANEE, Georgia — The OTR Circuit closed last weekend at Suwanee Sports Academy with the Final Run. Champions were crowned in each of the three age divisions. We begin digesting the basketball from this month by highlighting a few promising 2028 prospects who stood out at the event.

Steffan Jacques – Team S.M.A.S.H. – 2028

Jacques is ready to take the next step heading into his junior season. The 6-foot-6 wing has the length and deep-range shooting that scouts and college coaches look for in a perimeter player. His agility as an off-ball cutter around screens adds another layer to his offense. Expect Jacques to be one of the more discussed juniors in the state this winter.

Jackson Reed – Charlotte Aces – 2028

Reed earned early attention as a consistent performer on the OTR Circuit this season. It is easy to forget he still has two years of high school left. The 6-foot-7 forward produced steadily on the glass and finished well at the rim. He also took on tough defensive assignments for the Aces throughout the year. Reed already has range on his jumper and can reverse the ball in the half-court. Growth in his ball-handling should unlock another level as a playmaker.

Dylan Hamilton – Georgia Canes – 2028

Few players raised their profile as much as Hamilton over the past two months. We first saw him at the OTR X SHR Shootout in June at Next Play 360 while he was with North Cobb High School. He carried that momentum into the July events with the Georgia Canes. His shot-making in the 17U quarterfinals sparked the team’s advance. He hit four straight 3-pointers in the second half that proved decisive. Hamilton will play for Coach Marcus Spivey in his first year with the Warriors.

Hank Barfield – Georgia Legacy Select – 2028

Barfield shows what can happen when a player plugs into a program and puts in the work. The Adairsville product joined Georgia Legacy and has turned that effort into production. On Saturday afternoon he scored a game-high 34 points for Legacy Select. He is a versatile guard who can handle in tight spaces and knock down open jumpers. Some players earn steady recognition all year. Barfield is proof that playing your role and staying consistent can lead to bigger moments.

Khaleb Young – HWPO – 2028

There were whispers on the sidelines last weekend that Young might have the best jumper in the state. After watching him knock down 3-pointers from well beyond the arc, including several from NBA range, that claim deserves attention this high school season. The McDonough High School guard stands 6-foot-5 with a wingspan that stretches beyond that. He still has physical maturing ahead of him. We will keep an eye on Young through the fall and winter.

Mahkhi Cooper – Beach Boys Elite – 2028

Cooper is an emerging prospect from Florida. The 6-foot-3 wing is versatile and athletic. He covers ground well as a defender, pulls rebounds out of the air, and can start the break with the ball in his hands. In some ways he is still raw, but only in the best sense. He is coming into his own, and once the polish arrives his production will be hard to overlook.

Zion Dixon – Devin Butts Elite – 2028

Dixon is a guard from East Laurens who deserves attention coming out of this event. He is a notable athlete with a frame that will fill out. His advanced footwork with the ball helps him create space for jumpers on the perimeter. He is still finding his way while playing with older teammates on the DBE 17U roster. We will keep tabs on him as he enters his junior season with the Falcons.
