OTR Hoops: Breast Cancer Awareness Classic Preview

ORLANDO, Fla.- The 13th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Classic is a can-not-miss event in the state of Florida. Five elite matchups will take place at Oak Ridge High School on Saturday, including several top-ranked contests throughout the day. Here are some of the top players to watch for during the event.

Edgewater vs. Oak Ridge- 6:30 p.m.

Edgewater Head Coach: Jon Mason

The final matchup of the day brings us two Final Four favorites in their respective classifications, where the visiting Eagles look to make their second trip in the last three years. The Eagles have relied on early in the season by junior point guard Julian Fox and senior shooting guard Dylan Foster. The Pioneers have a new backcourt this season after graduating all five seniors from a season ago, where they now turn to UCF commit Donovan Williams Jr. and Nate Earl to lead the offense.

The Villages Charter has looked strong through the first four games of the season despite a loss to IMG Academy at the Miami Tip-Off nearly two weeks ago. Fleming Island is led by junior small forward Carson Crawford, who has drawn national attention since the start of his sophomore season.

This matchup features two of the underrated programs in the state of Florida where it could come down to the guard play between Michigan commit Joseph Hartman and RJ Ingram, from Lake Highland Prep. The Highlanders are off to a strong start to the season picking up wins over Santa Fe Catholic, Windermere, and Oak Ridge.

Our first matchup of the day pits two heavyweight Central Florida programs, both with a lot of talent in their guard play: Angelo Moton leads the Yellow Jackets, and freshman guard Timothy Mack leads a youthful Fightin’ Tigers squad looking to get back to the State Championships for the first time since 2022.
