OTR Hoops: Tournament of Champions Classic Preview - December 4, 2025

MARIETTA, Ga.- The Tournament of Champions Classic will be taking place this Saturday at Wheeler High School. Fifteen of Georgia’s best teams will be on display with games tipping off at 10:00 a.m. Here is a complete preview, including some of the top players to watch in the event.

MARIETTA, Ga.- The Tournament of Champions Classic will be taking place this Saturday at Wheeler High School. Fifteen of Georgia’s best teams will be on display with games tipping off at 10:00 a.m. Here is a complete preview, including some of the top players to watch in the event.

Coronado (Nevada) vs. Wheeler (Georgia)- 8:30 p.m.

Coronado Players to Watch: 2027 6’6 SF Munir Greig, 2026 6’6 SF Amare Oba (Missouri State commit), 2028 6’7 CG Devaughn Dorrough

Wheeler Players to Watch: 2026 6’6 SG Jaron Saulsberry (Ole Miss commit), 2027 6’0 PG Kevin Savage, 2026 6’6 SG Colben Landrew (UConn commit), 2026 6’5 SF Amare James (Clemson commit)

The final game of the day brings us a loaded matchup with several Division-1 prospects led by the trio from Wheeler High School, led by Ole Miss commit Jaron Saulsberry, UConn commit Colben Landrew, and Clemson commit Amare James. The Wildcats are off to a 4-0 start on the young season and could be a dangerous squad to win their third state championship in the last four years.

Hillgrove (Georgia) vs. Alexander (Georgia)- 7:00 p.m.

Hillgrove Players to Watch: 2026 6’0 PG Khalil Sylla, 2027 6’7 SF Asa Montgomery, 2027 6’4 CG Landon Grundy, 2028 6’2 PG Bryson Jatta

Alexander Players to Watch: 2026 6’3 SG Torien Greene, 2026 6’1 CG Jayden Crawford (Georgia Southern commit), 2028 6’8 SF Marquise Leslie (Charleston Southern commit)

In the penultimate matchup of the day, Alexander High School comes into the event ranked No. 55 in the nation, where they are led by their star-studded backcourt in Torien Greene and Jayden Crawford. The Hawks will look to slow down the Cougars’ efficient pace to start the season, where they’re averaging 73.3 points per game and allowing 63.6 points per game. The Hawks will look to rely on their sophomore guard, Bryson Jatta, who has carried the team through the first six games of the season.

Milton (Georgia) vs. Peachtree Ridge (Georgia)- 5:30 p.m.

Peachtree Ridge Players to Watch: 2027 6’1 PG Noah Jones, 2026 6’5 PG Micah McMorris, 2026 6’4 CG Isaiah Langley

The Eagles have gotten key contributions so far this season from their sophomore point guard, Pierce Strom, who has scored in double figures in each game. The Lions will have a tall task to see if they can contain junior small forward Solomon Bratton, who can play inside as well as be a threat to shoot from the perimeter.

Holy Innocents Episcopal (Georgia) vs. Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy (Georgia)- 4:00 p.m.

The evening session gets underway with a star-studded matchup between Devin Hutcherson and AJ Williams. Coach Lloyd and his Chargers will attempt to get on the right track, where they will face a loaded Holy Innocents Episcopal squad that has won five of their first six games to start the season.

Cedar Grove (Georgia) vs. Newton (Georgia)- 2:30 p.m.
