OTR Hoops: The Hoop Feast Standouts (Part 2)
WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla.- The 3rd Annual Hoop Feast tipped off last weekend at the Wiregrass Ranch Sports Campus, where over 100 teams from across the country took the stage. On The Radar Hoops were on the grounds of the event, and here is who stood out.
2027 6-3 SG Miguel Orbe, Miami Country Day
Orbe has taken significant strides so far this season for Miami Country Day, where he went off for a game-high 35 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the three-point line in a win over Bell Creek Academy. He then followed up with a 43-point outing on 8-of-14 shooting from the perimeter in a win over Parrish Community. His impact on the defensive end was pivotal down the stretch in both games, helping his team pick up a pair of wins.
2029 6-2 PG Josiah Brooks, SLAM Miami
The 6-foot-2 point guard played a mature game that goes beyond his years as he showed a rare blend of size, strength, speed, and athleticism. He set the tone early in a win over SLAM Tampa with his energy on the defensive end by being a factor in the passing lanes, as well as the ability to guard on the ball by applying heavy pressure on opposing ball-handlers. His ability to rebound from the guard position has taken huge strides, as well as running the floor in transition. Brooks has started gaining attention from several Power 4 schools, where he has emerged as one of the top two-way prospects in his class, not just on a state level but a national level as well.
2026 6-3 SG Aaron McGee, Gillion Academy
The Arkansas State commit is one of the top two-way guards we saw last weekend, whether it was playing with pace on the offensive end, as well as his ability to create his own shot off the bounce. He made defenders pay with his relentless touch from the perimeter and on the attack, finishing with either hand at the front of the rim. On the defensive end, he used his length and quickness to alter the passing lanes as well as making a strong effort on the glass. His high basketball IQ continues to feed off his teammates, and his physical play could make an immediate impact at the next level.
2028 6-2 PG Tai Bell, Mater Lakes Academy
The 6-foot-2 point guard can score in bunches, whether it’s his ability to be the primary ball-handler or play off the ball went off for a game-high 34 points, eight rebounds, and four assists in a win over St. Petersburg. He then followed up with a near double-double at 31 points and nine rebounds in a win over Bell Creek Academy. He also played hard on the defensive end, using his athleticism and quickness to his advantage by affecting the passing lanes as well as getting timely deflections, forcing turnovers, and leading to scores on the offensive end.
2027 6-7 PF Henry Robinson Jr, Pine Ridge
The 6-foot-7 power forward brought versatility, physicality, and toughness on both ends of the floor, whether it was his soft touch in the paint on offense or his ability to block shots at the rim on the defensive end. In the win over Seffner Christian, Robinson finished with a near double-double with 24 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks. His athleticism was a huge focal point for his team down the stretch, where he didn’t allow the opposition to get second-chance opportunities to score. Look for Robinson to get more Power 4 schools on his radar this season as he is already hearing from Florida State and South Florida.
2027 6-5 CG Ayaan Bhadouria, Carrollwood Day
The 6-foot-5 shooting guard played a smooth inside-out game in a win over North Tampa Christian. Bhadouria finished with a near double-double with 27 points on 11-of-18 shooting from the field to go along with eight rebounds. His size, length, and athleticism allow him to play multiple positions on both ends of the floor, where his high IQ can make havoc for the opposition. His upside continues to rise as he should draw interest from several college coaches before the season comes to an end.
