OTR Hoops: Florida Get Down Standouts (Part 2)

ORLANDO, Fla.- The top teams from Florida and Georgia attended the Dan Cross Florida Get Down Showdown last weekend at the Grand Avenue Center. On The Radar Hoops was on the grounds to cover the event. Here is who stood out.

2027 6-1 PG Trevor Miller, Central Florida Christian Academy

The 6-foot-1 point guard showed his relentless IQ in a thrilling win over First Academy, where he exploded for a game-high 27 points. On the defensive end, Miller played with a high motor and showed great instincts by jumping the passing lanes as well as altering shots at the front of the rim with his athleticism. On the offensive end, Miller brought a strong ability to finish at the point of attack, as well as showing a strong mid-range game.

2027 6-5 SG Angelo Moton, Leesburg

The 6-foot-5 shooting guard did a great job when it came to running the floor in transition as well as getting to his spots on the offensive end. He showed a soft touch inside as well as being effective off the catch in the mid-range. In a tough loss to Boca Ciega, Moton finished with a game-high 22 points, five rebounds, and four assists. He is a relentless on-the-ball defender, where he showed a ton of activity reading the next pass and forcing steals and deflections.

2026 6-6 SG Alexander Diapolo, Central Florida Christian Academy

The 6-foot-6 senior guard has emerged as one of the top defending wings in the class in the state, where he showed a ton of poise in the passing lanes, as well as showcasing his athleticism around the rim. He was also an offensive threat in the second half against The First Academy, which brought his team back in the game, where he scored all 10 of his points.

2027 6-4 CG Aaron Horton, Suncoast

Horton is an explosive guard who, on the offensive end, scored on all three levels, whether it was in the mid-range, finishing at the front of the rim, or being a pure knockdown shooter off the catch. On the defensive end, he showcased his versatility, where he was defending multiple positions and making havoc on the glass, where he could get out in transition. He finished with a game-high 25 points in a win over Victory Rock Prep.

2026 6-6 PF Malaki Baker, Dr. Phillips

The 6-foot-6 power forward made an immediate impact in the win over Winter Haven, finishing with a double-double at 17 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks. He played with a ton of length on the interior on the offensive end as well as on the defensive end, where he made havoc for the opposition to get off a solid shot. On the offensive end, his athleticism and ability to create his own shot off the bounce were noticeable, as well as finishing at the front of the rim through traffic. Coaches should be taking notice of this kid, as he can be a steal for any coach at the next level.

2026 6-5 SG Chase Hibbard, Timber Creek

The 6-foot-5 shooting guard played an inside-out game where he was a top finisher around the rim or out on the perimeter using his height to his advantage. On the defensive end, he showcased his versatility, where he guarded multiple positions by displaying elite footwork and court awareness. In a win over Florida State University High, Hibbard finished with a game-high 16 points and 12 rebounds.
