Riverdale, Georgia - Charles Drew High School was the host location for the Hoops 4 Hunger Showcase over the Thanksgiving weekend. Two full days of games that occurred in two gyms provided teams with premier media exposure as well as top competition before region play begins this month. While the On the Radar Hoops staff was courtside, Dan Olson from Collegiate Basketball Report, Bob Corwin from HoopsReview.net, and members of the 28.5 Scouting Service were also visible during the event. Here is our list of memorable performers from the weekend.
Kennedy Deese – Kell High School – 2026
Deese is an intriguing swing forward. Her athleticism allows her to be a presence on the glass while also being able to get into the passing lanes to disrupt the opponent’s offense. Offensively she is a tough match-up given her length and quick first step from the high post. She led the Lady Longhorns with 14 points in a win over the Webb School of Knoxville. She was also named MVP in Kell’s game on Friday. Her reported stat line was an impressive 25 points, 12 rebounds, seven steals, and three blocks in a win over Collierville. She signed her letter of intent to Howard University last month.
E’miah Fields – Buford High School – 2027
Fields is off to a quick start with the Lady Wolves this season. She earned MVP honors on Friday and followed that up with a game high 23 points in a win over Josey. The 5-foot-9 guard terrorizes opposing guards with her quick feet and long wingspan on defense. Offensively she is quick to finish in transition while also proving to be a capable perimeter shooter. Coach Gene Durden will lean heavily upon Fields’ production this year.
Kimya Jones – Carrollton High School – 2026
Jones is one of the top point guards we evaluated on Saturday. Her confident ball handling and quick feet give her the ability to impact the game on either end of the floor. She plays with a low center of gravity, which allows her to change directions quickly. She also proved to be a solid pull-up jump shooter in the midrange. She finished with a game-high 15 points and earned MVP honors in a win over Creekside on Saturday afternoon. She is signed to West Georgia.
Khloe Ford – Hoover High School (AL) – 2026
Ford is a throwback type of post player. Whereas many players, trainers, and coaches are enamored with face-up skills from their post players, Ford gets almost all her production from the low block. The left-hander uses her lower body well to gain angles in the low post and uses soft touch to finish in 1/1 situations. She has one of the best coaches in the nation to coach her up. Hoover’s head coach, Krystle Johnson, is an Alabama alumnus and now a USA Women’s U16 National Team Assistant Coach. Ford is signed to play at the University of Missouri.
Morgan Landrum – North Paulding High School – 2027
Landrum is one of those prospects that college coaches will be eager to recruit. She measures at 6 feet while also having perimeter skills. She should be most attractive for college programs who are interested in having players who can switch and defend multiple positions on the floor. Landrum’s offensive skills are versatile as well. She can spot up from the perimeter or take her defender off the dribble into the lane.
Morghan Reckley – Sandy Creek High School – 2028
Reckley is ascending into the elite ranks at her position nationally. By several accounts, she is one of the best in the state of Georgia, regardless of class. Her play backed up these claims on Saturday as she scored 24 points in a win over Bob Jones. Her elite ball handling skills combined with quick footwork make it almost impossible for the average defender to stay in front of her. Combine those skills with her range which extends well beyond the 3-point arc, and Reckley has a skill set that is elite.
Jazmin Maddox – Newton High School – 2028
The Lady Rams are coming off a Class 6A state championship in the 2024-25 season, and they look to have gotten better so far this season. Maddox is one of the reasons why Newton will be the team to beat. Her game has taken steps forward and she is playing with superb confidence. She is listed at 5-foot-9, but her length is enough to make one believe that she is pushing 6 feet. Her jumper was working at optimal standards on Saturday evening. She scored a game-high 22 points on the way to a win over St. Francis. She has picked up a few offers this fall including Wake Forest, Dayton, and Furman.
Giaunni Rogers – St. Francis – 2027
Any list of top shooters in the state of Georgia must include Rogers. The 5-foot-9 guard ripped the nets for 21 points, which included five 3-pointers that all came in the second half of a matchup versus Newton. Rogers has a compact, quick release which gives her consistency. More importantly she has accuracy while shooting off the move. Defenses cannot play her as a spot shooter, because she will nail jumpers off the bounce or while coming around screens. Despite the setback on Saturday evening, St. Francis figures to be a contender in Class A D1.
