Braxton Keathley, A three-star point guard, announced he has committed to playing his collegiate basketball career at the University of Pacific on Thursday.

The 6-foot-5 rising senior point guard will soon be heading to Prolific Prep where he will be playing in the Nike EYBL Scholastic after playing his first three seasons of high school basketball in the state of Kentucky. Keathley is the reigning Mr. Kentucky Basketball Player of the Year, having previously attended Martin County High School in Inez, Kentucky.

Keathley joins a reloaded Prolific Prep roster that includes 6-foot-9 freshman forward Wol Deng, 6-foot-3 junior guard Michai White, 7-foot junior center Bamba Touray, and 6-foot-7 senior forward Malachi Jordan.

The rising senior is a three-star prospect and is the No. 251-overall ranked player in the upcoming senior class, the No. 46-ranked point guard, and the No. 34-overall ranked player in the state of Florida for the Class of 2027, according to 247Sports. Keathley held offers from Bowling Green, East Carolina, Eastern Kentucky, Ohio, and Southeast Missouri. He’s also received interest from Arkansas State, Florida State, Kentucky, LSU, Louisville, Marshall, North Texas, Western Kentucky, and several others.

During his junior season, Keathley averaged 33.2 points, 9.0 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 2.7 steals per game while shooting 57% from the field, 47.1% from behind the three-point line, and 85% from the free-throw line. Keathley had eight 40-point games during the 2025-2026 season, including a season-high 44-point outing against Johnston Central back on February 13.

Prolific Prep is coming off a 38-4 record during the 2025-2026 season, where they made an appearance at Chipotle Nationals for the seventh consecutive season before having their season come to an end in the quarterfinal round against eventual champion Montverde Academy.

Prolific Prep relocated from Napa, California, to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, following the 2024-2025 season after an 11-year run in Northern California, where they produced 25 ranked players, according to numerous recruiting services, and 14 McDonald’s All-American nominees during that time frame.
