OTR Hoops News: 2027 4-star Small Forward Carson Crawford Names Top 5 Schools
Top 50 recruit Carson Crawford trimmed down his list of schools to five on Sunday and scheduled his first two official visits.

Carson Crawford, A four-star small forward out of Fleming Island High School in the greater Jacksonville area, trimmed his list of schools down to five on Sunday. Moving forward, the 6-foot-7 rising senior will focus on Arizona State, Florida State, Ole Miss, Providence, and Syracuse. Before trimming his list of schools, Crawford was being recruited by Cincinnati, Georgia, Jacksonville, South Florida, Texas A&M, and Virginia Tech.
Crawford is the No. 50 overall-ranked player in the nation, the No. 12-ranked small forward, and the No. 11 overall-ranked player in the state of Florida for the Class of 2027, according to 247Sports.
Crawford was a teammate of Cayden Daughtry on the Florida Rebels EYBL team that went on to win the Peach Jam earlier this month. Daughtry took home the Most Valuable Player (MVP) honors from the prestigious event.
Crawford has also scheduled official visits with two of his five remaining finalists, visiting Arizona State (August 29) and Providence (October 19). He also plans to take official visits with Florida State, Ole Miss, and Syracuse but has not scheduled a date for the remaining three finalists.
During his junior season at Fleming Island, Crawford helped lead the Golden Eagles to the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Class 5A Championship Game, where they had their season come up short against eventual champion Pembroke Pines Charter. It was the Golden Eagles’ first trip back to the state championships since 2019. Crawford averaged 17.2 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.5 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game last season.
During the Grassroots season with the Florida Rebels, Crawford averaged 7.9 points and 8.1 rebounds per game while shooting 55% from the field and 36% from behind the arc.
