Anthony Brown, A 6-foot-6 senior small forward out of Boca Ciega High School in St. Petersburg, Florida, announced his commitment to Tulsa on Tuesday. He becomes the first commit for Eric Konkol and his staff for the upcoming recruiting cycle.

Brown chose the Golden Hurricane over notable offers such as Arkansas State, Georgia Southern, Indiana, Jacksonville, Missouri State, North Florida, Queens University, UNC-Asheville, and Youngstown State.

During his junior season at Boca Ciega, Brown averaged a team-high 21.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.0 steals per game while shooting 53% from the field, 38% from behind the three-point line, and 68% from the free-throw line, according to MaxPreps. In a regional semifinal game against Gulf High School, Brown scored a season-high 45 points and snatched 11 rebounds, which helped guide the Pirates’ playoff run, where they made their first state semifinal appearance since 2002.

Scouting Report on Anthony Brown: Brown does a great job when it comes to playing with pace, utilizing his athleticism and length to his advantage on the open court. On the offensive end, he is unafraid when it comes to finishing at the front of the rim at the point of attack. He can also demonstrate and facilitate with his teammates, keeping constant pressure on opposing defenses. On the defensive end, he does a great job when it comes to applying pressure in the passing lanes, forcing turnovers that can quickly turn into scores when transition allows. Overall, he has a strong and versatile skill set that includes playing with a high motor.

Boca Ciega finished the 2025-2026 season with an 18-11 record and had their season come to an end in the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Class 4A semifinals against eventual state champion Suncoast.

The Pirates have added 6-foot-5 junior shooting guard Nijaun Harris, who comes over from St. Petersburg High School, which should give them a chance to make another deep playoff run this upcoming season.

Boca Ciega will open the 2026-2027 season on Thursday, November 19, with a non-district contest against Pinellas Park. The Pirates are led by head coach Marquel Cason, who is entering his fourth season with the program and holds a record of 48-34 in each of his first three seasons.
