KENNESAW, Georgia — The Southern Hoops Report Fall Showcase presented dozens of players that we will track going into the high school season. This is the fourth installment from the event, which is an indication of the depth from the camp. Here is a rundown on the next eight from the September Showcase.

Arthur Ball — Midtown, 6-6 — 2027

Ball is a college recruit because of his size, mobility, and skill set. He is listed at 6-foot-6 on the roster, but his length on the floor gives him a presence that is even bigger than the height on paper. He showcased his face-up skill at the camp. He was a determined driver into the lane and finished with consistency at the rim. His mobility and versatility are anchors that the Knights will be able to count on going into Class 6A this season.

Jeremiah Perry — Sprayberry, 6-1 — 2027

Perry is a left-handed guard who proved he can be effective as a spot-up shooter or as a finisher in traffic. The 6-foot-1 guard showed toughness as he absorbed contact and finished in the paint off the dribble. His versatility as a scorer will be key for the Yellow Jackets in Class 5A Region 6.

Jase Blake — Westminster, 6’ — 2029

Blake is a steady handler under pressure who kept his eyes up to distribute to his teammates. He proved to be a capable scorer as well in the open court. Blake’s game does not center entirely around the offensive end as he brought energy to the defensive end. His high-energy attitude will be infectious for Coach Matt Hixenbaugh.

Baraka Salania — Kennesaw Mountain, 6-3 — 2027

Salania is one of those players who will seemingly fit into any system that you plug him into. He presents the attitude of just get it done. He has the athleticism to back it up as well. His 6-foot-3 frame is athletic and he projects to be able to match up with most any player at his position this season. Offensively, his work away from the basketball is what caught our attention. He continually cut to the open spot on the floor, creating scoring chances for himself or drawing the help to open a jumper for a teammate.

Delbert Green — Kennesaw Mountain, 6-2 — 2027

Green was one of the more aggressive guards in the gym with the ball in his hands. He pushed tempo on the break and showcased his ability to get to the rim as well as anyone. His change of pace with the ball was notable in this setting. Defenders found themselves leaning the wrong direction when he shifted gears and directions.

Deslen Jackson — Lambert, 5-11 — 2030

Jackson was one of the youngest players in the gym, but that did not prevent him from acting like a veteran in this setting. He was vocal during drills, communicating to teammates and knowing what to do. On the offensive end he was a ball mover and gave his teammates energy by delivering on-time, on-target passes. It is on the defensive end where we saw the most promise. He is a sticky on-ball defender with quick hands. Coach Clay Wages will certainly like those qualities as he develops with the Longhorns.

Korben Polk — Cherokee, 5-11 — 2028

Polk earned a solid reputation as a shot maker this summer with Georgia Legacy on the OTR Circuit. He carried that momentum over into this showcase setting. He played with confidence and played to his strengths during game play. Polk is positioned to be an impact player this season for the Warriors and Coach Joe Veihman.

Allen Befekadu — Sprayberry, 6-3 — 2029

Befekadu is a promising underclassman who will suit up for the Yellow Jackets this winter. We immediately took note of his athletic size and stature during the drills portion of the camp. His talent translates to gameplay as he is mobile and versatile on the floor. He handles with the confidence of a guard and demonstrated that he can set up teammates with drop-off passes in traffic. We will keep track of his development in upcoming months.
