Five-star senior small forward AJ Williams has narrowed down his school list to ten on Monday. Joe Tipton of On3 first reported the news. Moving forward, the 6-foot-7 senior small forward out of Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy in McDonough, Georgia, will choose between Arkansas, Auburn, BYU, Duke, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Kentucky, Mississippi State, and North Carolina. Before trimming his list, Williams was receiving offers from Alabama, Cincinnati, Florida State, Indiana, Kansas, LSU, Louisville, Maryland, Miami, NC State, Oregon, Rutgers, among several others.

Williams has taken official visits to Auburn, Duke, and Georgia Tech so far. He is currently scheduling official visits with his remaining finalists. He is also the No. 5 overall-ranked recruit, the No. 2 small forward, and the top-ranked player in the state of Georgia, according to numerous recruiting services. He doesn’t currently have a scheduled date for a commitment announcement, but expect his decision to be announced after completing his official visits.

During the 2026 FIBA World Cup, Williams played with Team USA, where he played a pivotal role, averaging 14.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game in seven games played. He helped lead the Americans to the Gold Medal in Turkey, where he was teammates with Peach Jam Most Valuable Player Cayden Daughtry.

During the Grassroots season, Williams played for Team CP3 on the Nike EYBL Circuit, where he averaged 20.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game and was among the top scorers in the circuit, despite playing a year younger. 

During the 2025-2026 season at Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy, Williams averaged a state-best 31.8 points, 12.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.9 blocks per game while shooting 51 percent from inside the three-point line, 33 percent from behind the arc, and 86 percent from the free-throw line.

Scouting Report on AJ Williams: Williams can score from all three levels with remarkable efficiency. He has a smooth, high release on his jump shot, making him a consistent threat especially off the catch or bounce. He has a great understanding of team defensive assignments, rotating effectively, and uses his length to his advantage to disrupt passing lanes, leading to turnovers that lead to transition-scoring opportunities. On the offensive end, he has great court vision and displays his effectiveness where he isn’t just a scorer. Overall, his length and quickness allow him to guard multiple positions, from smaller guards on the perimeter to stretching bigs in the post. His ability to contest shots on all three levels speaks volumes about his versatility.
