OTR Hoops News: 2027 5-Star Small Forward Commits to UConn
Dan Hurley lands the program’s first two five-star commits since 2006, with Jordan Page announcing his commitment to the Huskies
Five-star small forward Jordan Page, out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, announced his commitment to UConn over the weekend. The commitment gives Dan Hurley and the Huskies two five-star recruits on ESPN’s recruiting services in at least 20 years. Page joins Navorro Bowman Jr. as the two commits for Hurley in the upcoming recruiting cycle.
Page made his commitment announcement following IMG Academy’s final game of the weekend at the Border League in Las Vegas, where they took on Millennium (Arizona).
The 6-foot-5 small forward chose the Huskies over his hometown school in North Carolina, which many believed was the frontrunner to land Page since he took an official visit to Chapel Hill back in September. Page was being recruited by Baylor, California, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Houston, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Miami, Michigan, among several others.
Page is ranked No. 12 overall, as well as the No. 4 small forward and the No. 6 overall-ranked player in the state of Florida in the class of 2027, according to 247Sports.
Before coming over to IMG Academy over the summer, Page played his junior season in the Tar Heel State at Broughton High School in Raleigh, North Carolina, which is the Alma Mater of former Kentucky Wildcat and 11-year National Basketball Association (NBA) veteran John Wall.
Page spent the Grassroots season playing for Garner Road Basketball Club, which is a part of the Adidas 3SSB Circuit, where he averaged 16.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. He was also named a starter representing the United States at the FIBA U17 World Cup in Istanbul, Turkey, where he averaged 9.8 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game.
Scouting Report on Jordan Page: Page is an aggressive wing who tends to impact the game in multiple ways on both ends of the floor. He can attack closeouts with purpose on the defensive end, where he uses his near 7-foot wingspan to challenge shots on the perimeter, as well as being able to alter shots at the rim. On the offensive end, he can handle the basketball in transition, get to his spots off the ball, and play out on the wing. He does a great job cutting hard without the basketball in his hands, as he can finish strong around the rim with either hand. He has a mature skill set where he can snatch down timely rebounds, use his length to his advantage, and compete hard on both ends of the floor. Overall, Page is projected to be a multi-year player for Dan Hurley and the Huskies, where he could be a key rotation piece right away.
