The On The Radar Circuit and Open division championships were decided this past weekend in the Final Run event. The Final Run event marked the end of the travel basketball season. Champions were decided in the 15U, 16U and 17U age groups in both the OTR Circuit and open divisions. Here are some of the standouts from the Final Run. 

Jaden Johnson - Sewer South - 2028

Johnson is a shifty, quick 2028 guard from Hillgrove HS (GA) who earned 16U Championship MVP honors after a dynamic 20-point outing where he scored efficiently off the bounce and from the perimeter while also producing multiple assists and key defensive plays. He plays with patience, has active hands, and consistently makes the right read, creating for himself and others without forcing action. Johnson brings energy, defends without fouling, and sparked the decisive Sewer South run that closed out the title game. With his ability to handle, create, and fill it up while impacting winning on both ends, Johnson is a 2028 prospect college staffs should be tracking as he continues to develop physically and expand his game.

Stevie Shields - Sewer South - 2028

Shields capped an impressive weekend with an impactful effort in the 16U championship game. Shields was vital in a crucial second half run by displaying a bevy of post moves that lead to buckets whether it be a fallaway in the lane, an up-and-under-move and showed good footwork with step through moves in the interior.  The 6’9 prospect out of Paideia can stretch the floor by knocking down perimeter shots with confidence, signaling long-term pick-and-pop potential. His physical development is trending upward. Shields played through contact, rebounds in traffic, moves well without the ball, holds his screens, can shoot it off the catch or the bounce with efficiency. Defensively, he impacts the game with his ability to block shots and has timely rotations. Shields finished the 16U championship game with 11 points, multiple rebounds, a handful of blocks and multiple winning plays. His combination of size, skill, touch, and continued growth makes him a legitimate long-term prospect for college staffs tracking frontcourt development in the 2028 class.

Jelani Cadette - Team Person - 2029

Cadette is a lefty shooting guard that is an elite ball handler, is a savvy decision maker, has touch around the rim and is a high-level defender. He defends and competes on both ends, yet it was his scoring that changed the tenor of tight bracket game. He caught fire during a crucial stretch where he connected on four three-pointers as part of a massive run to finish with 18 points-all in the second half and made key winning plays on defense to help seal the win. He gets downhill into the paint, initiates contact, is active on the glass, and plays with a high motor. His poise, maturity and confidence add to the list of his traits as an emerging prospect that should be tracked in the 2029 class. 

Kingsley Ojukwu - Twelve Time - 2029

Ojukwu is a 6'9" forward with a 7'1" wingspan and significant long-term upside. His length and timing allow him to anchor the paint defensively, where he consistently blocks and alters shots at a high level. Offensively, he finishes well through contact and shows the ability to play both below and above the rim. He is a quality rebounder, especially on the offensive glass, creating second-chance opportunities through effort, and physicality. His combination of height, length, and emerging skill gives him a strong developmental foundation. In a bracket win over AEBL that we observed, Ojukwu finished with 8 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 blocks, showcasing his ability to impact the game without needing high usage. Ojukwu profiles as a long, explosive frontcourt prospect with rim-protection instincts, rebounding production, and physical tools that project well as he continues to mature. He is a high-ceiling 2029 prospect worth tracking closely as his frame and offensive game develop.

Lorenzo McCorvey - Team Person - 2027

Lorenzo McCorvey is an all-around high-level athlete with a top-tier motor and strong coachability. McCorvey is a lead guard that has a 7-foot wingspan, excels in getting downhill, where his combination of length, explosiveness, and body control allows him to finish through contact and create high-percentage opportunities at the rim. Defensively, his length and athleticism allow him to alter and block shots at the rim, cover ground in transition, and make winning plays within the flow of the game. He runs the floor exceptionally well and consistently plays with effort that elevates his team. He tallied 19 points to go with 8 rebounds with several thunderous dunks and key free throws in an opening round win over the Warner Robins All-Stars. McCorvey’s physical tools, competitiveness, and ability to impact multiple phases of the game make him an intriguing long-term prospect for college staffs tracking versatile guards in the 2027 class.
