Sinan Huan, A four-star center has announced he will be continuing his basketball career at Purdue University earlier this month. Huan chose the Boilermakers over a trio of Big Ten schools in Illinois, Northwestern, and Ohio State.

Huan, a native of Beijing, China, moved to the United States when he entered his freshman year of high school, where he attended Windermere Preparatory School in Winter Garden, Florida, where he played his freshman and sophomore seasons. He currently attends Georgetown Prep in Bethesda, Maryland, and becomes the fourth member of the upcoming recruiting cycle to join Matt Painter and the Purdue Boilermakers. Huan joins four-star point guard Luke Ertel, four-star small forward Jacob Webber, and three-star power forward Rivers Knight.

Huan adds great size and is very mobile in the open court with the ability to run the floor and protect the rim on both ends. He also adds intensity on the defensive end, where his length speaks high volumes, allowing him to alter shots at the rim as well as showing his elite footwork when guarding out on the perimeter. On the offensive end, he is a big-time athlete who can impact the game in a variety of ways, whether it’s on the interior or the ability to knock down shots from the mid-range. He has a soft touch and great hands, which helped him gain confidence in becoming an inside-out threat on the offensive end as well.

Huan played on the Chinese National Team during the FIBA U19 World Cup, where he led the entire event in blocks, averaging nearly five per contest. He also averaged 11.3 points per game while shooting 54% from the field during the group stage.
