OTRW Hoops: 2028 Prospects on the Rise in Florida (Part1)

We have passed the midway point of the 2025-2026 high school girls’ basketball season across the state of Florida. Here are some of the top prospects trending upwards in this year’s sophomore class.

Makenna Enfinger - Central (Milton) - 2028: Enfinger has a smooth shooting stroke where she is unafraid to shoot off the bounce or catch on the offensive end. She is also a certified playmaker who can find open teammates on dribble drives as well as showcase her footwork in finishing at the rim on both ends. On the defensive end, she can guard multiple positions with her length, as well as being an elite rebounder. Keep an eye on Enfinger’s game over the next couple of seasons as she could make a huge impact at the next level. Enfinger currently holds an offer from South Alabama but can expect more offers to come her way as she is still early on in her high school career.

Jocelyn Hoffmann - Ponte Vedra - 2028: Hoffmann has been on a tear this season when it comes to her three-level scoring ability on the offensive end. She has been unafraid when it comes to scoring at the point of attack at the front of the rim. She can also create for her teammates when she has the basketball in her hands, as her high-IQ ability has taken huge strides this season. On the defensive end, she uses her length and athleticism to her advantage when playing in the passing lanes and is also an above-average rebounder for her size.

Ella Johnson - Aubrey Rogers - 2028:  Johnson plays under control and can score on all three levels on the offensive end at a respectable percentage. She is also an unselfish guard who gets her teammates involved, where her crisp and accurate passing has been on point this season, as she leads her team in assists per game. Johnson has already eclipsed the 1,000-point milestone as a sophomore, where she could be well on her way to setting the Collier County scoring record as she still has two more years of high school basketball left.

Kendall Proffitt - St. John’s Country Day - 2028: Proffitt plays with a combination skillset of size, length, and versatility on both ends of the floor. On offense, she is a three-level scorer who has played with a load of confidence this season. She has already made 94 3-pointers this season for the Spartans, where she is shooting 47% from behind the arc. On the defensive end, she is a high-level rebounder who does a great job limiting the opposition from getting second-chance scoring opportunities. Proffitt already holds an offer from UCF, but fully expecting her recruitment to get a huge jump as she still has two more years of high school basketball remaining.
