Point Guard BATTLE at the Carrollton Girls’ Night Out

Class of 2027 Cece Dennis (Creekside) and Morghan Reckley (Sandy Creek) went toe-to-toe last Saturday at the one-day showcase in Carrollton. Dennis delivered an incredible stat line of 43-points, 10 rebounds, and six assists in the win.

Dennis is on a trajectory to become one of the nation’s top point guards. She is underrated on most national ranking services. She is a dynamic scorer capable of getting her own shot. She can lead her team with play-making as she did most of her sophomore year leading Creekside to a 32-0 record and a state championship in Class 5A. She is also a proven distributor who can run the offense and play with high IQ as she did on the Under Armour Circuit with FBC United.

She recently visited to Auburn, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, and Clemson.

Reckley is ready to be recognized as one of the best in the state regardless of classification. She scored 29 points and showed no fear while battling Dennis. Reckley’s recruitment reflects her national attention. She has taken recent unofficial visits to LSU, Miami, and Maryland.

Both players will look to leave their mark with state title runs this season.

River Ridge’s Parker is Trending

Class of 2027 forward Finley Parker is picking up recruiting interest recently. Her play on the court matches the attention. Parker scored 22 points at the 14 Forever Showcase at Hillgrove High School with coaches from the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech courtside. She also scored 23 points this week in a win over Cherokee.

The 6-foot-3 prospect is ready-made for the modern game. She has the size and strength to battle on the interior and anchor a team with defensive rebounding. She is also capable of being a low post target to score points in the designed half-court set. She presents a big target with soft hands in traffic. She can be a consistent scorer in the paint given her ability to finish with either hand. Her footwork and balance are key in finishing around the rim.

The range on her jump shot has college coaches intrigued. She can stretch the floor consistently with 3-pointers and crafty one-bounce pull-ups. This requires defenders to track her from rim to arc. Parker is the type of prospect who could fit into an array of offensive schemes given her offensive versatility and IQ.

DeWitt off to a Fast Start with Marietta

Class of 2028 Leah DeWitt is back to form this season with a 39-point outing versus Woodstock. She shot over 60% from the field and no turnovers. The Marietta guard has earned interest from schools from across the country.

She is joined by junior Kyann Senior in the backcourt. Senior, a 5-foot-8 guard, has turned in two double-double games early this season. Expect the Lady Devils to be a contender this season given the strength of their roster.
