ATLANTA, Georgia — The Maynard Jackson Fall League presented by Show and Tell continued last weekend. This is the second of five weekends where some of the top girls’ programs in the Atlanta area come to get primed for the regular season. OTRW gets a chance to identify which players are poised to lead their team to success this season. Here is a second installment of standouts from the Show and Tell Fall League.

Aila Courtenay – St. Francis – 2027

Courtenay gave her verbal commitment to the University of Florida. The 6-foot-3 forward/center was the best player on the court on Saturday afternoon. Her combination of size, footwork, and touch is elite at this level. She ran the floor well and looked in good shape, which are positive signs heading into the winter months for the Lady Knights. St. Francis dominated the second weekend with Courtenay in uniform. St. Francis boasts one of the most complete rosters in the state and will be a favorite in their classification.

London Backman-Grier – Grayson – 2028

The Lady Rams have been one of the state’s most consistent and prestigious programs over the past decade. They look to continue that excellence with a new head coach, Courtney Harris. Backman-Grier returns to the Lady Ram roster and projects to provide leadership and scoring ability. The 5-foot-10 junior lists herself as a forward on her social media profile, but we saw wing skills from her on Saturday. She drained jumpers from beyond the arc and off the move in the midrange. Her size and soft touch will be assets that Coach Harris will call upon this season.

Aaliyah Perkins – Banneker – 2027

For college coaches looking for that sleeper big this fall, Perkins is the player you need to start tracking immediately. She is a 6-foot-3 post player with a great build and offensive upside at the collegiate level. She moves well, presents good defensive instinct, and has a frame that will blossom once under the direction of college strength and conditioning staff. We even saw her hit a spot-up 3-pointer in the first game of the day. She currently holds offers from the University of Fort Lauderdale, Piedmont, and St. Clair CC (Michigan), and is reported to have a visit scheduled with South Carolina State later this month.

Faith Andrews – Columbia – 2029

Andrews has put together solid back-to-back weekends at the Fall League. She has proven herself to be an offensive threat as a slasher and a spot-up shooter. Her body control and footwork when attacking the rim make her a threat to score in traffic. Her jumper is also coming along. She found consistency last weekend draining a few from long range. There is optimism around the future for the Lady Eagles as they have several talented backcourt players, which will be led by Andrews.

Charlie Riley-Williams – SOA – 2032

Riley-Williams is the name that people will want to go ahead and get used to hearing. She is just a seventh grader, but her size and on-court instincts are far beyond her middle school age. She is a 6-foot-3 forward who blocks shots, runs the floor, and is anchoring the SOA lineup as a consistent scorer. She is even showing some face-up skill as she has drained a few jumpers from the perimeter. We will be cautious to say too much as she is still maturing. Nevertheless, she is a promising young player who we predict we will hear much more about in years to come.
