The On the Radar Hoops Women’s staff has been courtside to see many of the best players in the state of Georgia this winter. Here is a glance at the top upperclassmen guards and their trajectory for 2026.

Kimya Jones – Carrollton High School – 2026

Jones has the Trojans off to an impressive 15-1 record. As a result, the Trojans are regarded as one of the top teams in Class 6A. Jones is a natural floor general capable of changing the game on both ends of the floor with her grit and athleticism. Her leadership will play a key role down the stretch for coach Shon Thomaston.

Savannah Aparicio – Etowah High School – 2027

Etowah is off to a hot 12-1 start this season. Aparicio is a big part of this early success averaging better than 21 points per game. She is a proven shooter from beyond the arc, but also a capable playmaker by using her dribble moves around ball screens.

E’miah Fields – Buford High School – 2027

Coach Gene Durden’s teams are always prepared to play hard and to execute. This bodes well for his players as they are given the opportunities to compete and make plays. The Wolves have another successful season on the horizon with a 10-1 record before the new year. Fields is making the most of her opportunities and is earning recognition as one of the emerging guards in the Metro Atlanta area.

Asiah Thompson – Kell High School – 2027

Thompson caught fire after we first evaluated her at the Hoops4Hunger Showcase at Charles Drew High School over Thanksgiving break. She recently recorded 27- and 20-point outings at the Kreul Classic in North Carolina last month. To add her surging profile, she also visited St. John’s University. The Longhorns have a 10-3 record and appear to be poised to be a team to beat in Region 6 Class 4A.

Laura Frances Willis – North Oconee High School – 2026

The Texas A&M Corpus Christi commit earns praise from all evaluators who sit in on her games. The hard-nosed guard blends effort and skill to get consistent results. She scored 23 points in the Titans latest win. Her team heads into the new year with an 8-5 record after playing several of the top teams in the state.

Mackenzee Williams – Woodward Academy – 2027

Williams might be the best player that no one is talking about in the state of Georgia. Our OTRW evaluator, JD Davis, identified her at the AEBL Holiday Classic over the Thanksgiving holiday. Per Max Preps, Williams is averaging 24 points and eight rebounds per game. She is leading the Eagles to a 10-3 record. The 5-foot-8 guard should earn more attention this calendar year.
