OTR Super 64 - Superlatives Part 1

HIRAM, GA – OTR hosted its Super 64 Showcase last Saturday at Hiram HS, and with 70+ kids on hand, the quality level in particular was among the highest of any of the many outstanding Showcases the last 6 weeks here in town. Thought it would be fun to do a Superlatives List similar to what I did with SH Report’s Showcase, try and get as many guys into meaningful categories as we can. By: Keith Agran TOP READY-MADE COLLEGE GUY(S)  Airious Bailey | 6-7 | SG/SF | Boyd Buchanan (TN) |......

AROUND THE ATL METRO – Coaches around the ATL-Metro have come up with the great concept of showing off their seniors classes in an Open Gym format in front of coaches and evaluators. Hypesouth "Unsigned Hype" Showcase - 6 Can't Miss Guys

WARNER ROBINS, GA – Middle Georgia got some love from the OTR staff as we headed south from Atlanta Sept. 26 to the beautiful, new basketball and multi-sport North Houston Sports Complex. The folks at Hypesouth Hoops had some of Middle and South GA’s top names in attendance, and we highlight 6 below who were too good to miss: By: Keith Agran Nickolas Woodard, 6-5, SG, Taylor County, 2022 (pictured above) Most polished and college-ready player there, big guard with good movement and a frame meant to travel, can play inside or......

SEBA All-Star Shootout: Breakouts

MARIETTA, GA – We finish our coverage of the SEBA All-Star Shootout from last weekend with a look at guys who broke out on the day, other from anonymity or simply put another stamp on their ascending status as players to watch. By: Keith Agran Domas Kauzonas, 6-10, PF, Rabun Gap, 2023 (pictured above) One of several Rabun Gap guys in attendance who I was seeing for the first time and who made big impressions on everyone there, good movement at a legit 6-10 both as an interior scorer and defender and......

SEBA All-Star Shootout: Best Shooters

MARIETTA, GA – In Part 2 of our look at SEBA’s All-Star Shootout from last weekend, we focus on in some of the many shooters who tickled the twine in front of a nice turnout of coaches and scouts. By: Keith Agran Mekhi Mawdesley, 6-5, SG, Habersham Central, 2022 (pictured above) Quite familiar from his BCB summer performance how hot he can get from up to 3 or 4 steps past the arc, had a run in one of his games that had coaches scribbling into their notebooks, classic catch and shoot......

Wood Elite Top 100 100 Boys Showcase, Part 2: 4 Can’t Miss Guys

MARIETTA, GA – We move to Part 2 from Wood Elite’s Top 100 Showcase at Kell from a week ago, with 4 guys who were just too good to miss. By: Keith Agran Jaiun Simon, 6-6, SF, Pebblebrook, 2023 (pictured above) Had the most impressive showing overall to me, just a monster at times at both ends as he can dictate whatever he wants in spots with an offensive game that has both skill and edginess, showed more of a face-up handle than I’d seen to this point and combined that with......

North Atlanta HS Fall League - Backcourt Combos

ATLANTA, GA – Northside Parkway is a great way to get around traffic on 75-N as you make your way up to 285, Cobb and beyond, but you couldn’t get around the sweet backcourt combinations I saw at North Atlanta HS’s Fall League last weekend. Let’s get a snapshot: By: Keith Agran TJ Lewis (6-1, Senior) | K’hamani Olivacce (5-9, Senior), North Atlanta The hosts are not quite rebuilding but have to replace a lot of production off of last year’s 20-win team that drew the unfortunate long road trip to Richmond......

DT Academy - Weekend Can't Miss Guys

NORCROSS, GA – The Pack Brothers and their Double Trouble organization held their three-day DT Academy for HS-ages this past weekend at Norcross HS, and there was a ton of big-name talent in the building. The big names performed well, I tried as I often do to dig a little deeper and pull some names out who you might not know or who are set to make big jumps in their recruitment. I was able to take in Friday’s drill session and portions of Sunday’s mixed drill and live-play action. I tweeted......
