The Thanksgiving Showcase presented by OntheRadarHoops.com provided a chance for area teams a measuring stick before they hit region play in the month of December. It also gave our OTRHoopsReport.com evaluators another chance to watch to see which individuals stood above the rest. Here is the recap of game number two that featured Archer and North Cobb Christian.

Game Recap: Archer 71 North Cobb Christian 54

Archer returns a squad that is experienced and ready to compete in region 8-AAAAAA this season. Those characteristics were evident in their 17 point victory over the Eagles from North Cobb Christian on Saturday. They cruised to victory behind the Kwei Lartey’s game high 14 points. The 6-foot-4 senior will be a wing player who should enter onto college coaches radar heading into the spring signing period, because of his athleticism, energy and production. Coach Tim Watkins also got 10 points from seniors Marcellus Bryan and Cedric Walter. Junior point guard Darrion Taylor also chipped in 10 while also controlling the tempo for the Tigers. However, the real story of this game lay in Archer’s ability to put pressure on the North Cobb Christian guards consistently for 32 minutes.

The Eagles, who feature 7-foot center Trey Kalina, were never able to get in rhythm in this game. The Chattanooga signee finished with 9 points. They were led in scoring by junior point guard Jalen Dampier and sophomore wing Will Crumly who each scored 12 points each. Crumly is a player who we will keep a close eye on for OTRHoopsReport.com scouting service, because of his 6-7 frame and solid skill at an early age.
