OTR Hoops: Iverson Classic – Top Guards to Watch – January 26, 2024

The 3rd Annual Iverson Roundball Classic features 16 elite teams from the state of Florida. The event takes place January 26-27 at The Villages High School. Here are the top guards to watch for this weekend.

2024 6-5 SG Donnie Morris (Berkeley Prep) Pictured Above

A 6-foot-5 senior combo guard has the true handle of a playmaking guard who gets his teammates involved early and often. Morris plays multiple positions on the offensive end whether he can get looks from the post or play out on the perimeter as a combo guard. He can impact the game in a variety of ways whether it is beating his opponent off the dribble, finishing at the rim, or scoring off the catch.

2025 6-4 SG Alex Lloyd (Westminster Academy)

The 6-4 junior guard will often at times initiate the offense from the point guard position. He handles the basketball exceptionally well and has a high IQ where he the right decisions. Defensively, Lloyd does a great job when it comes to guarding off the ball.

2025 6-1 PG Isaiah Campbell-Finch (Tampa Catholic)

The 6-1 junior guard has a respectable shot offensively where he can score on all three levels. His best attribute is driving toward the basket and kicking out to the open perimeter shooters. Defensively, Campbell-Finch draws a lot of attention with his quickness and ability to guard both on and off the ball.

2024 6-4 SG Kaiden White (Olympia)

The 6-4 senior shooting guard is a dangerous offensive threat where he can score off the bounce and catch. White also does a good job when it comes to taking care of the basketball and makes the right decisions on whether to shoot or pass the ball. Defensively, White has impressed with his ability to guard multiple positions at a high level. Keep an eye on this kid as he has a high upside to play at the next level.

2025 6-5 SG Caleb Sanders (Bell Creek Academy)

The 6-5 junior guard plays with toughness and a physical presence on both ends of the floor have provided a huge spark for his team. On the offensive end, Sanders has an improved jump shot to expand his range where he can score off the bounce as well as off the catch. On the defensive end, Sanders is a strong rebounder who is unafraid when it comes to pushing the pace and creating for his teammates.

2024 6-1 PG Braylon Burbridge (Mater Lakes Academy)

The 6-1 senior point guard is one of the best catch-and-shoot playmakers in the state. Offensively, Burbridge can score whether it’s off the catch or bounce as well as adding a solid mid-range game. Defensively, Burbridge makes havoc for opposing guards as he plays with a ton of quickness on the perimeter forcing tough shots. He is also a solid rebounder for his size who can get out on the break with his speed.

2024 6-0 PG Ameer Ramadan (Orlando Christian Prep)

The 6-foot senior guard shoots the ball exceptionally well at all three levels whether it’s off the bounce or catch. He also makes good reads when it comes to penetrating the defense and finding open shooters whether it’s off the backdoor cut or on kick-outs. Defensively, Ramadan is very fast and active when it comes to jumping the passing lanes as well as an above-average rebounder from the guard position.
