#OTRHoopsReport Event Recap: Fall Showcase Future Feature

By: @JLHemingwayPSB

Altanta, Ga. – The Fall Showcase presented by On the Radar Hoops put together some of the top young talent in the state of Georgia. The September camp provided the ultimate opportunity for many younger campers to show that they belonged on the same stage as some of the well-established veterans. Here is a glimpse into the future of Georgia basketball.

The talent rich state of Georgia is no stranger to talented big men and Wendall Carter of Atlanta, Ga. could be the next in line. At 6-foot-9 the class of2017 power forward puts us in the mind of former University of Georgia star forward Howard Thompkins, who went on to play several years in the NBA. Carter is not as polished as Thompkins was at a young age, but Carter certainly has all the tools to become an impact player for years to come.

A prospect in the class of 2017, MJ Walker of Jonesboro, Ga., is another star in the making. The 6-4 wing is an athletic play-maker who has a number of athletic tools that will make him a difficult match-up for defenses. Although we cannot point to a specific specialty at this moment, there does not seem to be a hole in his game either. Look for Walker to be one of the more exciting prospects in the state in the next few years.

Perhaps the flashiest player in the building at the Fall Showcase was Kendrick Summerour of Marietta, Ga. The freshman point guard has a number of dribble moves that keep the defense leaning the wrong direction. His skill and IQ put him on the watch list for the class of 2017.

Strength and athleticism will always carry a player to new heights. Obinna Ofodile of Duluth, Ga. brings exactly this to the table. The 6-6 forward has athleticism and a college ready body that is matched by few in the class of 2016. As Ofodile rounds out his skill set he will see his production match his potential.

A new name for our staff is Rayshun Hammond of Meadowcreek High School. The lanky left-handed wing showed an array of moves that allowed him to finish at the rim. He is solid from beyond with his feet set. Keep this 2017 prospect on the radar for future events.
