Marietta, Ga.  – Many of the top programs in the state of Georgia competed at the Nike Explosion on Saturday. College coaches from around the country stopped through Wheeler High School to watch some of the top talent in the state of Georgia.

Zep Jasper (Augusta, Ga.) Laney – 2016

Jasper gained our attention this fall at our Georgia Challenge. Saturday he showed why he will be considered one of the top guards in the state of Georgia. He is a point guard who excels at pushing the ball down the court, penetrating and hitting open teammates with on-target passes. He is an accurate 3-point shooter, but usually looks to pass first. He has great acceleration, including an overdrive gear, which he utilizes to explode to the rim.

Nick Wells (Marietta, Ga) Walton – 2015

Wells has bulked up some since the summer and that helped him finish on a more regular basis around the basket. He handles well in transition and he had a couple of impressive dunks in traffic that wowed the crowds on Saturday night.  The Air Force signee has taken his game to another level over the past year as he finished with 27 points against a loaded Wheeler team.

Lamont West (Lithonia, Ga) Miller Grove – 2015

This Ohio transplant has already gained the attention of many mid-major programs around the Southeast.  West created mismatch opportunities throughout the game Saturday night against a very talented St. Francis team.  This 6-foot-8 forward showed the ability to put the ball on the deck with one or two dribbles and effectively get to the rim. He benefited from guard penetration where he finished everything around the rim.
