On the hardwood only a select few earn a nickname that allows them to immediately be recognized by a crowd of screaming fans.  University of Georgia’s 2016 commit Tyree Crump has no doubt earned the right to be anointed with the nickname “Easy Money Sniper”.  Crump had his deadly jumper fully loaded and ready for action today as he dropped 26 points in a 67-66 win over North Carolina’s PSB Select Elite at the On the Radar Hoops Sweet 16.

Crump has step in the gym type of range, as he launched and buried a couple tonight from well beyond 23 feet.  The 6’2 combo guard might have the quickest release in the country, and I would no doubt put his hesitation pull up jumper up against anyone.  A shooter first, Crump’s game comes equipped with a lot more tricks in the bag.  His low quick handle allows him to lull defenders to sleep before elevating for open looks.

Over time Crump has learned to create just the little inch of space he needs to get his shot off, and if you crowd him he’s more than quick enough to go around you.  Upon first glance at him in action you might question his shot selection, as he sometimes has a tendency to settle for the deep jumper a little to much.  The maturity in his game has lead him to identify how to get teammates going with good penetration and an awareness of where his open shooters are.  Always competing to the buzzer sounds, Crump is a fighter and a vocal leader which are both attributes that will translate to the next level along with that quick release and deep jumper.
