EMERSON, Georgia, - Power 24 delivered strong competition once again this July. While many players stepped up, a handful stood out as the clear best performers for their teams according to the coaches who were there. From explosive scorers to steady leaders and versatile two-way threats, here are the top standouts from last weekend.

Dynamic Duos

The story of July has been the backcourt dominance of two Florida programs.

Sunshine Elite’s Whitfield Bynoe and Cory McPherson have been among the most consistent performers on the circuit all spring. Bynoe’s scoring and leadership have been undeniable, while McPherson continues to impress as one of the best two-way guards in the division.

Media Director Josh Tec had this to say about the tandem:

“The Sunshine Elite backcourt of Cory McPherson and Whit Bynoe has been elite this spring. Both are capable of dropping 20+ during a given game without forcing the issue. They’re smart guards who find ways to impact winning in all aspects of the game.”

Meanwhile, Team Gold Coast’s Donovan Swain and Gavin Reed have been nearly unstoppable. Swain has backed up his reputation as a high-level scorer, while Reed has turned heads with his playmaking, three-level scoring, and active defense. Their skill sets complement each other extremely well.

OTR evaluator Ross Van De Griek shared his thoughts on the duo:

“Donovan Swain is coming off a stellar season when it comes to Circuit MVP consideration. He brings efficient scoring prowess, getting to his spots both on and off the ball. Gavin Reed is an impactful guard who shows the ability to make plays happen using his penetration as well as his three-level scoring. Defensively, he is active and shows great foot speed.”

All four players have a legitimate case for Circuit MVP consideration at this point in the summer.

Headliners

Ian Kelly (Thunder Select) put together a dominant performance. He dropped 40 in one game and averaged over 28 points while leading his team. The class of 2027 guard also picked up an offer from Huntingdon College during the event.

Qua Watson (Only1Elite) had an outstanding showing on offense. The 2027 wing put up scoring lines of 25, 29, 26, 32, 22, and 29 points across the weekend. Director of video for OntheRadarHoops, Kris Watkins, is quoted as saying Watson is “arguably the best on the ball scorer on the OTR Circuit.”

Toby Strech (Atlanta Standard) was the best outside shooters during the event. He led his team in scoring nearly 17 points per game and went 30 for 53 from three (57%) across seven games. He is a 2028 guard who also led vocally on defense.

Nehemiah Cupid (100 Kings) was a walking bucket this weekend. He had games of 31, 21, 25, 27, and 17 points while also playing solid defense. Cupid consistently put pressure on opposing defenses and gave his team a scoring threat every time he touched the ball.

Shot-Makers

Clinton McCants (Georgia Canes Team Bryce) averaged 16.3 points. He hit big shots down the stretch and showed he can score at all three levels. Dropped 32 in one game when his team needed it.

Tyler Barnes (Triangle Offense Elite) had a strong weekend, averaging around 17 points per game while playing with great efficiency. He showed good playmaking and was a reliable scoring option alongside Chase Mohn and Will Gause.

Jayden Mabine (WarriorsLifeElite2028-Parson) shot the ball well from three and helped open the floor for teammates.

Mason Stallworth (AEBL 2029 OTR) led his team in scoring. He put constant pressure on the rim, worked the midrange, and knocked down timely threes.

Play-Makers

Promise Palmer (Atlanta Kings OTR) made plays and got to the rim consistently. He was a steady option for his group all weekend.

TJ Gipson (Only1Elite) had an outstanding showing on offense. He continues to prove that he is one of the top scoring guards on the Circuit.

Adrian Pozo (PSB Tampa 16U Elite Robinson, 2028) ran the show for his team. He averaged 15.7 points and three assists while playing with great consistency and leadership. Pozo was a featured 2028 prospect from this event. Read more here.

All-Around Players

Mahkhi Cooper (Beach Boys Elite) averaged 16.3 points with three threes per game. The 6’5 wing was a threat offensively and defended the lanes well. He is a 2028 prospect playing up on the 17U circuit. He is a stock riser that we will track into the high school season.

Keelan Day (Griffin Grasshoppers Elite) led his team with 18.3 points per game. He scored from all levels and contributed on the glass. Day backed up his reputation as one of the top scorers on the Circuit again this weekend. Read more on his game here.

Chase Mohn (Triangle Offense Elite) averaged 18.5 points with six rebounds and four assists. He shot 39% from three and 85% from the free-throw line. @QRoseySportsUSA described him as “a legit scorer. His quick first step, crafty handle and patience makes him difficult to defend.”

O'jarion Patrice (Florida All Stars Varsity 3SGB) averaged 20 points and 14 rebounds. He hustled every possession, stayed coachable, and helped lead his team to a 5-2 weekend. An @OntheRadarHoops scout described his game in this way; “long guard for the Florida All stars. He looked unstoppable today in transition. Utilizes his wingspan for disruptions on defense then gets a layup or a dunk on offense.”

Will Gause (Triangle Offense Elite) averaged around 17 points per game and played well throughout the weekend. He was a consistent scoring threat and worked effectively alongside Chase Mohn and Tyler Barnes in Triangle Offense Elite’s offense.

Lucas Fainter (Georgia Legacy, 16U) put up 21.8 points and 9.1 rebounds. Versatile forward who kept producing.

Edmund Dantes (Warner Robins All-Stars) led his team in most categories with 13 points, five rebounds, and blocks. He attacked from all three levels.

Ibn Triplin and Jaylond Foreman (WarriorsLifeElite2028-Parson) both had strong weekends with double-doubles in the paint. Triplin showed versatility, while Foreman brought power inside.

Omari Alleyne (PNP 2029) got downhill and finished consistently at the rim.

Adrian Taylor (Wood Elite) was a key performer for his team.
