52nd Annual City of Palms Classic- Day 2 Standouts

FORT MYERS, Fla.- The 52nd Annual City of Palms Classic gets underway on Thursday and runs through December 23rd at the Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Fort Myers. Here is who stood out on Day 2:

Braylon Williams, Bartlett (Tennessee) (2028)

The 6-foot-1 point guard played with incredible poise and leadership from the point guard position in a convincing win over Long Island Lutheran. On offense, Williams was creative and showcased his scoring ability on all three levels, finishing with a game-high 20 points on an efficient 6-of-11 shooting from the field, as well as going 7-for-7 from the free throw line. On defense, he was active in the passing lanes and also a disruptor when guarding the ball, forcing the opposition into taking tough shots. Williams will be a name worth keeping tabs on as he is already hearing from Jacksonville University and Radford University.

Nasir Anderson, Prolific Prep (Florida) (2027)

The 6-foot-4 junior point guard is an absolute menace on the offensive end, whether it was his scoring or getting his teammates involved that separated his game. Anderson finished with an efficient 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field and 2-for-2 from behind the arc. He added six assists in the win over Bella Vista Prep. On the defensive end, he stayed locked in, applying heavy pressure when guarding on the ball as well as being active in the passing lanes. He added his physical play to disrupt the offensive flow as well.

Marcis Ponder, Gillion Academy (Virginia) (2026)

The 6-foot-10 senior power forward and Florida State commit has come into his own this season, where he brought toughness and physicality on both ends of the floor, whether it was his thunderous dunks or his ability to clean the glass. Ponder adds strength, size, and his frame to his advantage, where in the first half, he had a near double-double at eight points to go along with 11 rebounds. In transition, he ran the floor exceptionally well, adding versatility to his game as a rim-runner and guarding multiple positions.

Willie Burnett III, Gillion Academy (Virginia) (2026)

The 6-foot-5 senior shooting guard and Arkansas State commit is a bona fide scorer with a variety of skills in his arsenal on the offensive end, where he can play off the ball and get to his spots. Burnett has a burst of speed where he can attack downhill as well as stop on a dime and finish behind the arc at a high clip. His vision on the defensive end is what separates him from most two-way guards, as he can guard inside as well as out on the perimeter, where his strength is used to his advantage.

Jojo Philon, Montverde Academy (Florida) (2026)

The 6-foot-9 shooting guard played with contagious energy from the opening jump, consistently beating defenders off the bounce and showing his ability to attack downhill as well as making strong cuts to the basket, where he finished with either hand. Philon finished with 14 points to go along with eight rebounds in a wire-to-wire win over Gillion Academy.

Dhani Miller, Montverde Academy (2026)

The 6-foot-2 point guard and Kent State commit showed some flashes of creativity, whether it was his scoring or his playmaking on the offensive end. On defense, Miller played with high energy, where his rebounding from either side of the blocks is what made the difference in the game as he finished with a double-double (22 points and 12 rebounds), as his size didn’t faze him when it came to guarding on the interior. He knew when to play under control and didn’t force himself into taking a difficult shot.

Colben Landrew, Wheeler (Georgia) (2026)

The UConn signee was in his bag for all four quarters, where he was creating separation of the defense off the bounce as well as off the catch, where he led the way with 37 points on an efficient 12-of-18 shooting from the field, including 6-of-10 from behind the arc. His ability to be effective when playing off the ball has taken huge strides this season, as he doesn’t need to make an immediate impact as a guard. His strong defensive mechanics, along with his versatility on the floor is what separated him from the rest of the guards in the win over Bishop McNamara.

Caleb Holt, Prolific Prep (Florida) (2026)

The 6-foot-6 senior guard showed reasons why he is ranked inside the Top 5, according to numerous recruiting services in the nation. On offense, he was clicking on all three levels as well as playing primarily off the ball. He exploded for a game-high 27 points on an efficient 7-of-13 shooting from the field. On defense, he was active when it came to applying heavy pressure on opposing ball-handlers as well as being active on the glass and the passing lanes.

Aaron Britt Jr, The Villages Charter (Florida) (2027)

The 6-foot-2 point guard played with a lot of confidence on the offensive end of the floor, where he was making smart reads to his teammates as well as knowing when to take over. His IQ and his patience are what stood out to me, as he can make an impact with and without the basketball in his hands. His court awareness on the defensive end, as well as his versatility, which allowed him to guard multiple positions, spoke high volumes as he could make a mid-major Division-1 coach show a ton of interest in him as the season rolls on.
