OTR Hoops: B2BN Jr. Lemon Street Classic

The inaugural Junior Lemon Street Classic presented by B2BN took place in Marietta on Saturday, December 13 featuring some of the best middle school boy's basketball teams in the Atlanta metro region.

Marietta 61, Pebblebrook 59

Upon arriving it was impressive to witness the back and forth between Marietta and Pebblebrook. Two well-known Atlanta metro teams going head-to-head featuring some up and coming well known, talented prospects in the 2030 class.

Cooper Head | Marietta | 2030

Cooper Head is a name that has been circulating the younger age group for quite some time. Head is a poised young guard that truly understands the role of being a floor general. Head controlled the tempo well and understood how to give his team the upper hand going into the final minutes of the game. Head finished with 18 points, including four 3-pointers and added some crafty layups around the basket.

Austin Ware | Pebblebrook | 2030

Austin Ware has made his presence known on the AAU circuit and at showcase camps; a continual standout each time he steps on the floor and today was no different. In the back-and-forth game, Ware kept on the attack, keeping his team in the game almost singlehandedly. Ware got hot down the final stretch hitting several big-time shots. Ware finished with 19 points including 5 3-pointers.

Mt. Bethel 72, Wheeler 61

One of the most intriguing games of the day was the Mt. Bethel and Wheeler match-up and it is one to remember. From a prospect with a triple-double to several other players hitting double-digits in scoring, the play matched the hype.

Anthony Moreno | Mt. Bethel | 2030

Anthony Moreno was easily the MVP of the B2BN Jr. Lemon Street Classic. Moreno finished with a triple-double with 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 steals. Moreno showcased the full package and it was on display for the entirety of the game. Moreno is always in the right place at the right time with his ability to see the court. Moreno also added in 5 assists and was able to throw the ball on a string once crossing half-court into his bigs. Moreno is a prospect to track as his game continues to flourish.

Geraldo Campbell Jr. | Mt. Bethel | 2030

Geraldo Campbell Junior led all scorers at the B2BN Jr. Lemon Street Classic with 28 points with 5 made 3-pointers. Campbell got hot quickly and down the stretch continued to be a threat by staying on the attack. Campbell did well getting out in transition and playing off Moreno’s ability to see the open court. This duo proved to be hard to stop throughout the game with their ability to play off one another.

Tallen Pinson | Wheeler | 2030

In the 2030 class, Tallen Pinson is one with the calmest demeanors and an ability to play with even keel. Despite a slow start, Pinson was able to fill up the stat sheet with a double-double with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and several steals. Pinson has added height and muscle, and those gains have paid dividends for him on the court. Pinson does well utilizing his length to body defenders inside and can get downhill quickly from the perimeter. High ceiling prospect to continue to track.

Lyle Hampton | Wheeler | 2030

Lyle Hampton added a spark for Wheeler with his high-motor and ability to score inside and out. Just shy of a double-double, Hampton added the lift for Wheeler to stay competitive down the stretch. Finishing with 15 points, Hampton showed his ability to stay consistent and resilient by finishing plays through contact.

J.C. Booth 66, Furtah Prep 58

Despite a slow start from JC Booth, the team was able to rally together and get the win. J.C. Booth was able to come up big inside and with some added outside scoring, edged Furtah Prep down the stretch.

Micah Smith | J.C. Booth | 2031

Despite having only played basketball for two years, Micah Smith was able to showcase his raw talent. Smith understands positioning inside and uses his body to get over or around his defenders. Smith added a double-double that could have easily marked double digits in each category, proving to be hard to stop. Smith is a high ceiling prospect that will be worth tracking over the next few years.

Russell Myers | J.C. Booth | 2031

Greyson Humphrey added a huge lift with his ability to score the basketball and knock down several 3-pointers. Humphrey does well spacing the court and getting to his spots with a quick release off the catch. High IQ shooter that gets hot quickly and is tough to guard with his length and ability to read what his defenders show.

Domink Vela | Furtah Prep | 2031

Domink Vela is a scrappy guard with a motor that kept J.C. Booth on their heels with his ability to go. Vela never let up, staying on the attack each time he touched the ball. Defensively, Vela was ruthless in giving his opponents very little room to see the court or make quick plays.

Santiago Zuniga | Furtah Prep | 2031

Santiago Zuniga was the glue for Furtah Prep staying competitive throughout the game. Zuniga used his high-motor to turn steals into quick points on the other end. Zuniga was fearless on both ends and came up big on several 50/50 plays that helped keep his team competitive for the entirety of the game.

Stewart Middle 65, Bennetts Mill 61

Another tight game that was forced into overtime, but it was Antwon Davis’s ability to get to the charity stripe that allowed Stewart to take the lead. Stewart was able to capitalize on the errors that Bennetts Mill made down the stretch and tally another W in the win column.

Antwon Davis | Stewart | 2031

Antwon Davis was hard to stop for the duration of the game. Finishing with 18 points and 10 rebounds, Davis showed his tenacity for taking over and handling the game as the floor general. Davis came up big with several tough shots, including several and-one’s from the mid-range. Davis is a quick guard that can take it coast to coast and flip it right back on defense by getting deflections and in passing lanes. Tough guard that knows how to run point.

Adin Von | Stewart | 2031

Adin Von’s ability to secure rebounds is one of the major reasons why Stewart won the game. Von pulled in at least 18 rebounds, limiting his opponents second or third chance opportunities throughout the game. Von understands positioning and staying tall, quickly finding his point guard, and running in transition. Offensively, Von was able to finish on multiple put packs and get to the line for several and-ones.

Christian Van Dorn | Dennis Mill | 2031

I wouldn’t be surprised if Christian Van Dorn follows in his brother’s footsteps to play at the next level. Van Dorn quickly caught my eye with his frame and on court demeanor. Van Dorn has a nice touch around the basket and does well squaring up to determine his next move. Van Dorn finished with 13 points and was able to showcase his versatile scoring and ability to rim run.

Grayson Humphrey | Dennis Mill | 2031

Grayson Humphrey was the spark who kept Dennis Mill in the game. Humphrey finished with 23 points, including three 3-pointers. Humphrey showcased his ability to handle the ball, swiftly moving up the court and being able to finish on either side of the basket. Humphrey also proved to get hot, knocking down 3’s quickly off the catch.
