PLAYERS FEATURED
The On the Radar Hoops Breakout Camp featured a group of point guards and lead guards across the 2029 and 2030 classes who showed the ability to handle, create, push tempo, and make decisions with the ball. Below is a look at the 2029 lead guards who stood out in those roles from the notes.
2029 Point Guards

Phillip Claybrooks | Lovett | 6'2" | 2029
Claybrooks made an impression with his quickness at the camp. His quick hands and feet helped him make plays on both ends of the floor. We watched him anticipate and stab his hands into the passing lanes to get steals. On the offensive end, he used jabs with his footwork to get defenders leaning the wrong way before getting his shot. He proved to be more than just a high-energy slasher; he is a consistent perimeter shooter as well.

Kingston Ward | Eufaula High School | 5'8" | 2029
We liked the mentality that Ward brought to the floor on Sunday afternoon. He pushed the tempo in the open court and quickly pitched the ball ahead to his teammates. Those qualities speak volumes for a player who is looking to leave his mark this season in Eufaula.

Kamani Hollis | East Forsyth High School | 5'11" | 2029
Hollis is rounding into form as a complete prospect heading into the autumn months. He is a reliable handler in the backcourt who will distribute the ball cleanly to his teammates. He can also flip the switch and attack to create plays in the crease of the defense. We took note of his aggressiveness when he took the ball to the rim. He was able to finish through contact, which is largely due to him being the player who brought the action to the paint.
True Taylor | South Gwinnett | 5'9" | 2029
We always take time to pay attention to the players who value good decision-making over trying to make the spectacular play at these camps. While it is true that the highlight play may get you more attention, good habits do not break easily. That is what we saw from Taylor on Sunday. He can create and make a play for himself. But we watched him make the measured play more than once. And that type of consistency ought to pay dividends in the future.

David Scott | Mill Creek High School | 6'1" | 2029
Scott proved to be one of the fastest guards in the building on Sunday afternoon. With just a quick burst in the open court, defenses found themselves watching him make layups if they hesitated. Scott was just as effective in the half court as he ripped drives baseline and got to the rim before the defense had a chance to rotate to his attack. He has decent size to complement his explosiveness. The Hawks will look to implement that talent this year.

Gabriel Winston | Greenforest Christian Academy | 6'1" | 2029
We got introduced to Winston this spring with DPC on the OTR Circuit. We noted him for his size and athleticism, which framed his game as a versatile all-around perimeter player. He has been putting in the time and the work since our initial viewing. He has newfound confidence as a ball handler and shot maker. We took specific notes of his willingness to be vocal and direct his teammates in key moments. Winston is showing the earmarks of a rising star for Greenforest Academy.

Kaleb Patterson | Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School | 5'11" | 2029
We love point guards who use their skills to set up their teammates. We saw Patterson do that on a couple of occasions at the Breakout Camp. He has an explosive first step that gets him into the lane often before the defense has time to react. However, once he is in the lane he does not force the issue. He is quick to pitch to teammates spacing around the arc. Or he is equally effective using his body to create angles in traffic for a score of his own.
