ORLANDO, Fla. — We are just under a week away from the first live period of the spring, where we have 42 teams gearing up to play in front of college coaches. Here are 11 players who stood out on the opening day of the event:

Ryan Harper - Sunshine Elite OTR - 2028

Harper is a highly skilled guard who plays with a high motor, where he can score on all three levels on the offensive end. On the defensive end, Harper made his presence felt, where he was consistently applying pressure to the ball and being active in the passing lanes. He also did a great job when it came to attacking the glass and wasn’t afraid to let his size dictate his ability to finish at the rim while absorbing contact.

Chase Hibbard - Powerhouse Basketball OTR - 2026

The 6-foot-5 unsigned senior wing displayed his ability to be a lethal shooter when it comes to playing off the catch and bounce, knocking down several 3-pointers in a win over Showtime Ballers. He also made an impact where he was able to use his size to dictate footwork on the interior, whether it was finishing on the blocks or being an active rebounder finishing high at the rim. His effort and intensity on the defensive end set the tone, where he was able to be a disruptor in the passing lanes, forcing turnovers, and continuing to apply heavy pressure on opposing guards.

Dwayne Foreman III - Powerhouse Basketball OTR - 2027

Foreman has a great feel and understanding of the game, where he effectively ran the floor in transition, knowing when to score versus when to facilitate on the offensive end. Defensively, he did a great job when it came to pressuring the passing lanes, causing turnovers, and continued to be a pest to opposing ball-handlers. He also adds great athleticism, where he battled on the glass, getting loose balls, and being active when it comes to turning defense into offense while getting steals and deflections.

Bryce Hoffert - Sunshine Elite Basketball OTR - 2027

The 6-foot-6 junior wing helped control the pace and was unafraid with his ability to stretch the floor on the offensive end, where he knocked down three 3-pointers in the second half in a tough loss to Team Speights in the afternoon game. On the defensive end, he did a great job when it came to battling for possession and getting timely rebounds to help keep his team afloat. He was also unafraid when it came to using his physical presence when it came to challenging shots at the rim, as well as utilizing his elite footwork to close out on the perimeter shooters.

Brady Kearns - Team Speights - 2027

The 6-foot-7 rising senior wing played with the flow on the offensive end, where he didn’t need to be the primary option to make an impact in the afternoon game against Sunshine Elite. He was able to score at a high clip on all three levels, whether it was being efficient off the catch or bounce. On the defensive end, he stayed competitive and played with great length when guarding on the perimeter, in the passing lanes, as well as altering shots at the rim. Overall, Kearns displayed a great feel and understanding of the game, where his IQ allows him to play multiple positions and impact the game in a variety of ways.

Dominick Walsh - Team Speights - 2027

The 5-foot-11 junior guard played with good speed and is an elite decision-maker with the basketball, connecting on several alley-oops in transition late in the game against Sunshine Elite. On the defensive end, he used his combination of skill and speed to cover passing lanes and get timely steals down the stretch. His combination of speed, athleticism, and toughness was evident throughout the game.

LJ Bacon - Sunshine Elite OTR - 2028

The 6-foot-2 combo guard showcased the ability where he can get downhill in transition, as well as making strong, crisp passes on the break. On the defensive end, he applied heavy pressure when guarding the passing lanes, as well as being a constant disruptor when it came to guarding the ball. He also rebounded well from the guard position and limited the opposition from getting second-chance scoring opportunities.

Whitfield Bynoe - Sunshine Elite OTR - 2027

The 5-foot-11 junior point guard turned in a solid outing during the opening day session at the Florida Pre-Live Warmup. On offense, he took over as the lead guard, where he made strong reads and kicked ahead to his teammates in transition. He was also unafraid when it came to scoring at the front of the rim and knocked down timely shots from the perimeter off the catch as well as the dribble. Defensively, he made a strong and immediate impact with his ability, where he contested shots around the rim as well as closing out with discipline on the shooters in the half-court. He has asserted himself where he could make a ton of noise as a potential two-way playmaker heading into the live period as well as his senior season.

Cory McPherson - Sunshine Elite OTR - 2027

The 5-foot-11 junior point guard is a quick guard with a smooth handle on the offensive end, where he didn’t need to score to make an immediate impact in the morning game against Showtime Ballers. In the afternoon game against Team Speights, McPherson showed his true poise and leadership with the basketball in his hands, as he was making the right reads to his teammates. He is a steady playmaker who can make plays happen at the rim, as well as being unafraid when it comes to being a lethal scoring threat from the perimeter. On the defensive end, he applied consistent on-ball pressure, as well as being effective in the passing lanes. His ability to control the game on both ends of the floor and build a high-IQ could open the doors for a possible start in his recruitment in next week’s live period.

Derwyn Link - Showtime Ballers - 2028

The 6-foot-7 sophomore is one of our rising prospects in the 2028 class, where he can dominate the offensive end, whether it’s his ability to finish above the rim or stretch his game into becoming a pivotal perimeter threat. In the afternoon game over Southeast Elite Black, Link had a monster game, finishing with a game-high 30 points to go along with 16 rebounds. His energy was created with rim-running dunks, high-level rebounding at the rim on both ends of the floor, and making havoc for opposing guards with his length in the passing lanes, as well as getting deflections. Overall, Link’s presence in the paint on both ends of the floor continues to stand out, as he is an absolute game-changer with his rebounding, rim protection, and will score on multiple levels. He is the younger brother of former Florida State Seminole Dwayne Bacon.

Brock Bass-Bonner - Team Speights - 2027

The 6-foot-8 rising senior power forward is a rim-runner who finishes around the rim as well as being a floor spacer on the offensive end. On the defensive end, he competed around the basket, where he was altering shots around the rim with his length as well as blocking shots. He also did a great job limiting the opposition from getting second-chance scoring opportunities.
