Richardson doesn’t have an exact date on when he will announce his college commitment, according to On3’s Joe Tipton. Richardson has taken official visits to all four finalists, with his most recent visit coming to Ole Miss back in November.
Richardson is described as one of the top-tier wings in the country, as he has long arms and is explosive when finishing above the rim on the offensive end. He makes momentum-shifting plays where he catches lobs around the rim, as well as having the ability to spread the floor and shoot from the perimeter. He has a soft touch around the rim where he can be effective off the bounce as well as the catch. Defensively, his length and versatility speak volumes, as his ability to rebound from the wing position is effective as well.
During his senior season at Southeastern Prep, Richardson is averaging 12.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.3 steals per game in 27 games played. He is shooting at an efficient 61% from inside the three- point line and 32% from the perimeter this season. During the Nike EYBL Peach Jam last summer, Richardson played with the Florida Rebels where he averaged 8.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game in four games played.
Richardson has basketball in his bloodlines as his older brother (Jase) currently plays for the Orlando Magic and his father (Jason) played 14 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Golden State Warriors (2001-2007), Charlotte Bobcats (2007-2008), Phoenix Suns (2008-2010), Orlando Magic (2010-2012), and Philadelphia 76ers (2012-2015).
