PLAYERS FEATURED
Day 1 brought no shortage of standout performances, with several prospects making strong statements through scoring, shot creation, physical tools, and overall feel for the game. From explosive guards to versatile wings, these players consistently stood out with the way they impacted winning and imposed their style on the action.

Sully Templeton - Twelve Time - 2029
Sully Templeton is the kind of big that rarely comes around with how hard he works every single possession. At 6’4, he brings a strong post presence and consistently finishes through contact around the rim. What immediately stands out is his motor. He plays with nonstop energy, competes for every rebound, battles for position, and brings the type of intensity that makes him one of the loudest and most impactful players in the gym. His toughness, physicality, and willingness to do the dirty work made him a clear Day 1 standout.

Donovan Swain - Team Gold Coast OTR - 2027
Donovan Swain put together one of the most impressive scoring performances of Day 1, finishing with 22 points against CP3 EYBL 2028 in a true scoring clinic. Not to mention he led his team to a 72-48 victory. He produced from all three levels, knocked down four threes, played above the rim, and showed the ability to create his own shot consistently. What made his performance stand out was the variety in his attack. He was not just a shooter or just a slasher. He mixed in perimeter shot-making, athletic finishes, and confident self-creation, making him a constant problem for the defense throughout the game.

Jayon Connor - CP3 EYBL - 2027
Connor looked every bit the part of a high-level prospect on Day 1. At 6’7, he brings a powerful mix of strength, athleticism, and assertiveness that immediately jumps out. He plays above the rim, finishes through contact, and is especially dangerous in transition where his physical tools become even more difficult to contain. Beyond the highlight plays, he also brought consistent energy and physicality, making his presence felt possession after possession. His combination of force, mobility, and aggression made him one of the more impactful forwards on the floor. High major caliber.

QJ Young - AWigg Elite - 2027
QJ Young was one of the more entertaining players to watch on Day 1 because of how dynamic he is with the ball in his hands. He is crafty and explosive, yet still plays with poise and a smart overall approach. That balance stands out. He can break defenders down, create offense in tight spaces, and score from all three levels without looking rushed. His ability to combine flair, control, and real scoring ability makes him a tough matchup and one of the more intriguing guards/wings from the day.

CP Perry - Dub Salem - 2027
CP Perry stood out with his creativity and comfort level as a guard. He has a smooth handle, strong shot-making ability, and the kind of sneaky athleticism that helps him generate advantages even when defenders think they are in position. He consistently keeps defenders off balance with the way he moves, changes pace, and creates off the dribble. What also stood out is how natural he looks with the ball, playing with confidence and feel while finding different ways to create offense. He gave Dub Salem quality guard play and was one of the more skilled shot-creators from Day 1.

Sam Flippen - PSB Elite Barnes - 2027
Sam Flippen had a strong showing by displaying his shooting ability well beyond the perimeter. He stretches the floor, makes defenses respect him from deep, and does so while still playing smart basketball. He was not just hunting shots either. He looked reliable with the ball in his hands and showed that he can function as a playmaker when needed. That combination of perimeter shooting, decision-making, and feel makes him a valuable piece and a player who can impact the game in multiple ways.
Final Takeaway
Day 1 featured a strong mix of production and long-term upside. Donovan Swain delivered one of the top scoring outings of the day, Jayon Connor flashed high-level physical tools and transition impact, and QJ Young brought an exciting three-level scoring package. CP Perry impressed with his creativity and shot creation, while Sam Flippen showed how valuable shooting and smart play can be. With more games still ahead, this group set a strong tone early and made themselves impossible to ignore.
