The Spartanburg area played host to several teams from both the Carolinas and Georgia for a weekend of hoops that pitted several of the region’s notable programs against each other. Here’s who stood out throughout the weekend:

Jeremiah Jones Franklin - Top Shot - 2027

Jeremiah was one of the most dominant players this weekend. Explosive athlete who finished consistently above the rim. Ran the floor hard, rebounded at a high level & defended every position on the floor. Effortless athleticism matches a strong frame which allows him to finish through and around contact. Showcased some shooting touch from the mid-range and has improved at putting the ball on the floor to get him to the rim. Jeremiah is a name to keep an eye out for this summer; he could be a breakout candidate with how physically imposing he is on both ends of the floor.

Kingsley Ojukwu - Twelve Time Elite - 2029

Kingsley is a long explosive athlete that finished well below & above the rim. Good size & length. Protected the rim at a high level with blocked shots & shot alterations. Rebounded well, especially on the offensive end to create second chance opportunities. Low usage but was effective when he got his opportunity. Impacted the game without needing to dominate the ball.

Fabian McClintock - Upward Stars Upstate - 2027

Fabian was highly impressive this weekend. Explosive athlete who can score in transition as well as the halfcourt. Good shot creator as well as being able to score in structure. Showcased good footwork and the ability to finish through contact. Put smaller defenders in the post and scored at a high rate. Switchable defender with his size and length which gives him high two-way upside.

Aiden Mcjunkin - Team S2AD - 2030

Aiden was one of the best players I saw his weekend, regardless of level. He scored at a high clip in a variety of ways. He poured in a game high 29 points in his first game and followed that up with consistently scoring 20+ points. Two-way player with great size & a high skill level. Played through contact despite being doubled & even face guarded at times. Rebounded the ball at a high level and can also create off the bounce.

Kasyn Chase - Warriors Life Elite - 2027

Kasyn was instrumental in Warriors Life Elites success this weekend. Consistently knocked down shots, attacked close outs effectively while finishing with either hand. Plays well on or off the ball. Constant energy and communication while on or off the court, showcasing excellent leadership. He is also an excellent on ball defender that can guard 94 feet without fouling.

Kolby Wilcher - Granville Elites - 2030

Kolby put on a show despite this weekend which led his team within a few possessions of the championship. Incredible shot creation & foot work. Shifty & crafty with a good first step. Knocked down shots all over the floor. Regardless of the defender, he got what he wanted, when he wanted it. Moved well without the ball, utilizing screens to get open. I was really impressed with his effectiveness on the high usage. When the Elites needed a big play, Kolby was able to make it.

AJ Cureton - Top Shot - 2029

AJ has extreme poise to match his pace. Handles pressure well without turning the ball over & always looks to pass first. A traditional point guard who leads with his ability to find his teammates in their spots to get them going before looking for his offense. When he needs to score, he can shoot it off the catch or bounce & finish at the rim efficiently. Constantly touched the paint and keeping a live dribble consistently. Dissected opponents in pick and roll sets as a scorer and passer. Also guards the ball at a high level.
